Well, I finally got myself around to reviewing this chapter. Sorry it took so long, various factors interfered.

Anyway, overall I liked the chapter. You did a good job with it. I liked the scene with Jak and Damas in the first part, that conversation was touching. The latter part about the war didn't surprise me, in Damas' place I'd be angry about Seem working with Veger too.

Vin using the War Factory to catch the falling palace was amazing. I just hope he's able to get back into the Haven Eco Grid, I really like Vin's character. I also hope his niece is still alive.

I'm not happy Aiden killed Chubby just to hurt Jak emotionally. I don't blame Jak for losing his temper, in his place I'd have done the same thing to the bastard. I'm certain that was a good quality mauling. While I agree that Jak went a bit far to get Aiden punished, the bastard false monk needed to go. He was a poisonous influence on the monk order.

By the way, over the years my brain seems to have expanded on the Hounds of Mar idea I gave you in one of my reviews. If you want to hear it, just send my a PM and I'll tell you about it. Maybe it'll stop bugging me then.

I am shaking after that chapter ending. I am /shaking/ from the feeling of seeing a lost pet just before having it snatched away again.

I cannot express how deeply it grinds my gears and grates my scales that YOU/DAMAS ARE NOT WRONG
KILLING PEOPLE OVER "PROPERTY DESTRUCTION" IS EXCESSIVE
but it hurts so much that Jak literally just got Chubby back and immediately Chubby is severely wounded if not outright dead.

Jak and Daxter was my favourite game as a teenager and still is today. I still have all of them. Are you going to continue this story I hope you do because Jak and Daxter is slowly fading away and I would love love to know the ending of your story before it does.

I come back and re-read this story ... I feel like once a year, at least? It's always just been one of those stories that stuck with me, and I love going through it again and again and reliving the adventure.

I know that I suffer massive, crippling guilt over not finishing things, and I saw in your author profile as I was coming back to re-re-(re,re,re, etc)read this that you seem to be a bit stressed about being "behind," or what have you and I just want to say that like. ...I've always enjoyed the story as it is. Of course I would be SO excited to see more, but for ten years you've had this story up and available for me to read. As it is, was, between updates, every stage of it - it's always a delight. It doesn't have to be finished to be a gift that is massively enjoyed.

I have always loved your voice and insight to Jak, and Daxter, and the idea of the reluctant love and responsibility that Jak of course steps up to. The every man, taking care of the every man. I love stories like that, especially, and in the process of your writing you humanize Jak even more than he was, and made him a hero and protagonist that I have even more affection for, because you rounded him out so much.

I delight in reading your world here. Every time I come back to revisit it, I haven't ever had a moment of DANG IT, IT'S NOT FINISHED - I'm just glad that it's here. I enjoy it. I always enjoy it. And it sticks with me and pops its way back into my head and I come back and have a good ol nostalgic romp in a world that I love. So. You know. I'm just one voice, and I can't drown out anything else - certainly not your own voice, but I wanted to pipe up and let you know that I appreciate this story. As it is. If it ever updated, I would joyfully read it. If it doesn't? Honestly, I'll see it in another year, when I find myself thinking about that one story that's just so good that I want to live in that world for a little while.

That took way longer than I would have liked, and stolen moments around and between work meant I couldn’t take notes as I would have liked either. But I will do my best; it’s bound to get long regardless.

I’d like to start by thanking you; while reading this I have begun writing on my own JnD story that I haven’t touched beyond base concept in nearly a decade, though it’s taken a turn that I wasn’t expecting XD

I am in love with your characterization, especially Jak and how he thinks and interacts with others and his growth. Everyone just have so much depth and heart compared to canon, feel more like people.

But is there any chance Vin jumped back into the Eco Grid before the end? Are the kids okay? Why do you make me care for all these OCs only to kill them?! And Chubby! So much happened in the last couple of chapters *cries*

I hope Veger get what’s coming for him; justice for the Port! (kudos on making me hate him more btw) And I wonder how Seem will turn out after this, I didn’t care for her overmuch in the game, but as with most others you’ve made her grow on me.

Have you considered writhing anything else for the series? Nothing as big or ambitious as overhauling the whole trilogy; but changed or missing scenes in freestanding one-shots throughout the series, maybe? I’d personally especially love to see you do something from the Precursor Legacy; I can’t get enough of the way you write the boys’ friendship or the more attentive/considerate Jak.

From Jak2 it could be interesting with Jak thinking back to Gol and Maia and comparing to his own state/reaction/change from exposure to Dark eco. Maybe getting to conclusions about sages early and trying new ways to get the Dark to cooperate?

Will you be putting this up on AO3 too? Cause I know what to say when I bookmark it;)

Your writing is amazing, the build up splendid and this is the kind of Jak that should have happened, for we did not deserve the Jak from the game (hello, take you goddamn throne!). You can do it, we are cheering you on, can you feel it :P, :D?

OMG! This story is so amazing! You came so close to the end, too - the finish is in sight!

It's a tragedy that this didn't get finished, it was a pretty spectacular fic. Hope you return to it some day.
