Normally I wouldn't say that I like storys with a tragigc ending, but your story was just so good. Those last words were touching, And the metaphor "beautiful flower withered away" got to the heart of this situation perfectly. Well done!

Truly a beautiful one shot. I, truthfully, can see this happening in the manga itself (or at least something along the lines of what happened to Kakashi). How at the last moment it all seems to happen, it's realized Ino was more loved than thought.

Normally I would complain about not giving any backup information on what's going on, but I don't think it was needed here, as my attention and thoughts were on both Ino and Shikamaru. Also the literacy was very good. Strong words that matched the moment greatly were chosen well. Beautifully written.
