Reviews for Inkfall (Warning: Old Writing)
The Wil chapter 39 . 7/13/2013
I kind of read all of your Inkheart stories in two days. I was skeptical at first, and I started reading, just to read an inkheart fic because I was bored. Needless to say, you impressed me with these stories, and I've enjoyed reading them til the very end. I'll be sure to follow your blog, and I can't wait to hear your progress on your novels. It's been nice seeing your writing grow, although I guess you've been writing these three fics for awhile now? Thanks for the great stories.

Above all, this is what I believe the best fanfiction written of Inkheart. I will begin at the very beginning, Inkpen.

When I was first reading this, I was enjoying the plot but the wording of the passages were confusing me at some points and the characters were certainly frustrating with their naive attitudes. Which I had laughs about, dealing with their attitudes. It just seemed so childish and carefree is was a joy to read and escalate as I went through the plot of Inkheart in a new found and, if you ask me, better way. I agree with you about Fengolio, he annoyed me so many times in Inkheart and just made me want to shove him out of the book, if only I could that is. Now that I think of it, Meggie did seem very innocent in the books didn't she? Then again, she was a 12-year-old who knew nothing about war and killing. Overall, I loved Inkpen and finished all the chapters in one day so I could move onto Inkfate.

Now, in Inkfate I was still seeing grammar errors and some odd word placements, which I assumed was sight 1) You weren't reading the passage over again or 2) You simply didn't know it happened. And, like Inkpen, the plot didn't discourage me at all to stop reading. Since I live in America it was very soothing to my mind to know familiar territory. But it was also disheartening that Capricorn had moved his base there as well, story wise. I was like, 'Well, this just isn't going Callypso's way now is it? It just gets worse and worse...'. Of course, it fit the irony of it all perfectly, and to be honest I loved it because I'm just that evil. I specifically loved all the character development in here, I was growing attached to the characters and loved them so much I didn't want the book to end. Then, it ended and I found out about Inkfall.

When I found out about the third book I was like, 'There's a third book? A THIRD? WOOHOO!'. I was that happy, no joke. I started reading immediately till I had to retire to my bed for the night. The approach on making the characters age throughout the books made the idea of it all so realistic and I'm glad you set it up that way. In three days I finished Inkfall, reading at least 5 chapters each day. I became so desperate to read this that I slung out my iPod during the night and dealt with the slow internet just to read this. And I will admit it now, the whole plot set my mind and heart into it, every time the main characters were hurt I could literally almost imagine the pain and/or I felt a twinge in my heart due to it. Now let me get this straight, very rarely do stories make me this emotional when they are not romances. Sure, Kat and William were like a couple but they didn't show too much romance throughout the novel so it never caught on too much on my feelings. The plot line in this is by far my favorite of the three, given the dramatic approach to it. Your writing definitely improved in this as well and I was glad for that because then I could read it like it really was a published book.

You've come a long way Kallypso and I applaud you on finishing this series. It really was a good one and I hope you get your own books published so I can read then anew even though the plot will be fairly similar. You've gone a long way in three years since 2009, and for the better I might add.

And my favorite character? I'll be a cheap-shot and say I liked Callypso the most. Yes, she may be the main character but I enjoyed her the most, next to Basta of course. The two of them were so father-daughter like in the last book I just grew to like Basta. In the beginning of this fanfiction and the actual Inkheart books, I hated Basta with a writhing passion. Literally, I wished sometimes I was able to pin him against a wall and hold a knife to his neck and see how he liked it. I love these books and they are certainly going into my favorites. As I've said before to a couple of people on here, you are a very promising writer in my eyes. I only hope you don't take that as an insult since I am only a 14-year-old just going into High School. I look forward to seeing your books published in, hopefully, the near future.

1) Will is my favorite of your characters but i like Basta's rewriting.

2) Really good concluding chapter it speaks volumes not just about the fic's journy but also about life.

3) I really, really, enjoyed this story and I am glad I found it before you deleted it. I liked the way you incorporated your characters in a unique way. I hope to see your book soon.

Sorry I reviewed (and read) the epilogue before this chapter because I forgot it was here so ignore a few of my comments in my epilogue review.
DARK5hifter chapter 38 . 4/1/2012
My favorite character has to be Basta (I 3 him) but my fave character that you created has to be Kat.

You did a pretty good job on the epilogue but sort of wanted to know how the others took Basta's death (especially Kat).

The series was AMAZING! Thank you so much for writing it.

TwizzlerFan chapter 35 . 2/7/2012
I didn't feel like logging in on my iPod. Too much typing.

The majority of the following review will be made assuming you know the Pirates of the Caribbian songs. If you don't, find them on YouTube.

I was reading the fight scene and listening to PotC music and it just made epicness that is already epic even more epic than the rules of epicness may permit. Through the first half 'Up is Down' was playing and when the bass instruments made their descend Callypso went after Cocerel and when the treble instruments made their descent Basta caught up to them and then 'Parlay' played and right at the electric guitar part started it was all "BAM! I am Will and I am here to knock Drake OVER!"

If you know what Im talking about, great. If not, then just know that it was all a compliment to yours and Hans Zimmers connection between music and story.
