Reviews for Resemblance
halliwelldream chapter 1 . 12/23/2009
A few grammatical oopsies but an otherwise wonderful read.

How easily something could have gone wrong with Booth's surgery and how horrifying it must have been for Brennan to be able to do nothing for him-at least with the stalker, she could pick up the gun, aim, and shoot. But I'm digressing. I liked the time-skipping storytelling-it worked very nicely for providing the snapshot glimpses of Brennan grieving, Brennan dealing, Brennan accepting and just the progression of Brennan's emotions after Booth's death and his continued influence on her.

I'd like to have seen more 9 weeks and 9 months and 9 months and 9 years (but I understand why I don't, given the setup of the story) if only because those are time periods when obviously Booth should be present and were he alive, he would unmistakably be present, and she must know that so I'm curious to see the how those implications would affect her. I loved how all the peeks into her life after Booth peeled away at her vulnerability and her growing into someone other than the reasonable forensic anthropologist. Though in the end, she is hard and soft all at once and I think that's fitting for her, especially given that she no longer has Booth to complement her. Well done!
