Wow, just wow. A good friend of mind strongly rec'ed this but I almost didn't read it. It's the opposite of everything I normally read: a one shot, romance and next-gen. I'm so glad I trusted my friend enough to persevere. What a beautifully done fic and a great gift to the fandom. Thank you.

Okay, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this story before, because when I read it it basically grabbed my heart and yanked it around a bit and then kidnapped it. Damn, this story is gorgeous. It makes me sorta brood every time I read it (I'm at least up to 5 times by now), but that's okay, because it also makes me smile. And the song lyrics are just absolutely perfect. Your Dom is so dangerous and interesting. I love the building of the story, how it evolves and how they grow up. It feels like a film, we grow up with them. They become adults and it feels so natural. It's a wonderful job you did. I love it!

This was fantastic! I love your characterisation of Dominique, and the relationship you manage to create between her and Zan. I also loved the fact that even though it followed her from life to death (something else I thought was great, by the way :D) it didn't become confused or ramble off on tangents because you used the whole idea of 'beginnings' to tie it together nicely. And then it had a piece of every genre in it - it was funny, it was romantic, the ending was undeniably sad... Great, great job, and bring on more Dominique! :P

That was a wonderful little distillation. I"m glad you told that story the way you did. You have an excellent grasp of tone which I admire. I very rarely read next gen but I definitely enjoyed this.
