This was so beautiful. Wonderful, nuanced, and so slowly built-up that I really believed in their relationship. They were both so broken, but so perfect for each other. I loved the small details, like the pairs, the apples, the cookie cutters, the holiday placemats, etc. Grinned about Christina's baby genuis, too. Well done.

really just a bloody brilliant fic

i loved the fact that they were so imperfect throughout the fic... broken broken broken, shards and edges and rough and twisted...

and yet, we kept seeing them shifting and turning, until piece after piece, still broken, fit into the other persons' missing/broken parts.

they fought like married people from the beginning and like best friends.

I just wanted to let you know that I've read both of your Alex & Meredeth stories multiple times. I really enjoy them a lot and I hope to see more of your writing and more MereAlex.

This was a lot darker than I expected being in the friendship/romance category. I really enjoyed it though. Great writing and I really like the pace of the story.

Great story! Loved how we managed to cover so much time and with sufficient detail all in eight chapters. Loved that we saw the relationship between Alex and Meredith develop and bloom before they did; that true to their characters they were filled with doubt yet perfect for each other. Really glad I found this story; was a great read thanx x

I cannot say that I am not disappointed that this is not a Alex/izzie story because you writes them so beautifully but must say I could not put down this story.I do like Meredith and Alex but cannot pictured them as lovers and even with your wonderful writing , this Alex is too tamed but all your writings are good and I loved your other writing style but please can you give us a Alex/izzie story too.

I really loved this story. I've always thought that Alex & Meredith would make such a great couple because they're both 'dark & twisty' and I think they can understand each other in a way that others can't. You write their relationship brilliantly!

I loved this.

I have been hooked on your stories ever since I read "First Do No Harm" at the end of season 4, and have been waiting for a new Alex/Izzie piece for a long time now especially in light of what's going on in the show, that being said this was an absolute treat. The dialogue was so true to character...this story was just so Mer/Alex. I adore their friendship on the show but sometimes your stories make me wish they were paired off. They just understand each other so well, and despite everyone else failing them, they never fail each other. The highlight for me though was Alex, he is my absolute favorite character and it is so hard to find fiction where he is written well, if he's even written about at all. Thank you so much for sharing this, and I hope that you do end up writing that sequel (or 5. or more A/I. or anything).

I'm speechless. This is so, so, so awesome. I can't even really put it into words. I love how they're both so insecure around each other, like they expect that the other is just waiting for a chance to leave, and they're constantly surprised when it never happens.

I'm not going to lie, I think you are the best!writer! But I was a little heartbroken that this was Alex/Meredith. You write the most!amazing! Alex/Izzie, and we seriously need some hope right now after the way the show has all but killed their relationship. I wanted to read your story, because your writing is so, so, beautiful, but I'm die hard Alex/Izzie, and it's painful for me to read the gorgeous nuances of your writing applied to anyone but them.

All that being said, you are so fantastically talented, and I would LOVE to see more of your Alex/Izzie in the future!
