Reviews for Destiny's Child
fraidykat chapter 20 . 3/9
Thank you I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I am sorry for all of what life threw at you since you started writing and I hope your son is doing alright. I don't know if you are still writing but if you are I will find the latest and read it, if not then I hope you and yours are doing well.
Thank you,
Juanita

That was an amazing ending. Glad they got to fill in that void to love another child in need. Great she was 6 too! That was perfect! Thanks for sharing.
Oh, did Jim ever get those three guys back for that lies they wrote? And will Spock ever get the baby boy Vulcan to name James?

Well heck, that was adorable. You are by far one of my absolute favourite fanfiction writers of all time. MOII is one of my top 10 favourite fanfics of all time as well. You are an incredible writer and while I will wait forever for the MOII sequel, I hope you are doing super awesome and I hope your life is damn fabulous

Beautiful ending. Thank you for finishing it well. I do like to imagine they eventually had a son, too, and named him Leonard James (nod to a TOS episode).

And let us hope in this universe they manage to avoid the wrath of Khan and (even miss the version of the reboot movie because that was just too heartbreaking). Because in their original universe, if I remember correctly, Saavik got stuck helping a regenerated Spock through Pon Farr on the Genesis planet...and obviously that would be incredibly awkward and wrong here and well...poor Spock. ;-)
KatieLyn chapter 19 . 1/6/2017
Ah, great, you made my grumpy self cry. Thanks a bunch. Sigh.

Poor James. He reminds me of Tuvix, in Star Trek Voyager. Tuvix was the result of a transporter accident that melded the Vulcan Tuvok and the alien Neelix (I can't recall what species he was) and Tuvix became a beloved member of the crew. But meanwhile Captain Janeway was working on a way to get Tuvok and Neelix back. This meant obliterating Tuvix completely...destroying one man who turned out to be the best of both men to save the two who comprised him. It was a heartbreaking episode. No matter what Janeway decided, people were going to lose someone they cared about.

As for Jim, throughout the story it has occurred to me that he really should not have been made Captain when he was. Not only was he lacking stability and the proper nurturing upbringing in his youth, but he was thrust into a very demanding role that even his well brought up original self had years of training and experience and promotion through the proper channels to prepare for.

This breakdown was long in coming. But circumstances being what they have been, he has to be captain and he is damned good at it because he is James T Kirk at the core. There is something unique about him. It's just a shame he didn't get to grow up at a more natural pace and get the opportunity to grow into the role.

I hope this experience as James does help make up for that.

Well, yeah Spock was OOC, but he's actually way worse in the reboot movies, so hey...knock your socks off. The movies these days are like really bad fan fiction. There's very little an actual fan fiction writer can do that could screw with canon more than the movies have. And given the circumstances, Spock's behavior isn't particularly jarring. I'm frankly surprised he's still sane.
KatieLyn chapter 17 . 1/5/2017
Yikes! Jim needs to get his ass back to reality, pronto.
KatieLyn chapter 16 . 1/5/2017
Exceedingly uncomfortable, disturbing, and well done. Oddly, James reminds me of Marilyn Monroe, or what little I know of her from documentaries, as she was before my time. Which in turn makes me wonder about men, yuck.
KatieLyn chapter 15 . 1/5/2017
Wow, what a premise! Fascinating. This is a very unique and original execution of the de-aging trope.
KatieLyn chapter 14 . 1/5/2017
Lol-some dude named Picard!
KatieLyn chapter 12 . 1/5/2017
Well THAT was confusing. And hot in a sweet way, as in it was a nice preview of the endearments Jim could be capable of. But really what the hell is going on with him? Is he hiding out in his own mind?
KatieLyn chapter 10 . 1/5/2017
Bahahahahahahahahahaha! Awkward! Funny funny awkward chapter!
KatieLyn chapter 8 . 1/5/2017
This chapter beautifully echoes some moments from the original series episodes, on rare occasions when Spock and McCoy, during moments of crisis where Jim is in some sort of peril, actually do acknowledge Spock has feelings for Jim.
KatieLyn chapter 7 . 1/5/2017
Lol, in TOS, Spock and Bones actually did kind of work in tandem to keep Jim more or less out of trouble and in line. This story isn't quite the stretch in their dynamics than one would initially think.
