Oh... oh, wow. How powerful. It puts me in mind of the old joke: The masochist says 'hurt me', and the sadist replies 'no'. Jack finds the one way to hurt and break the Doctor well beyond what he'd been expecting. But it's a break the Doctor needs to experience in order to heal properly, I think.

I actually managed to cry.

Normally oneshots don't get me deep enough to cry, but I did.

Brilliant job.

I like seeing the doctor letting himself feel emotion because he always saves a bunch of people, but always at the price of others.

Achingly lovely. If you keep it as a one-shot, a perfect glimpse into one of those moments wherein entire characters are revealed and rebuilt. If you add to it, an exquisite jumping-off point.

This is sad and very well done... The Doctor wants jack to hurt him because of what has happened, but Jack forgives him... Its the breaking point for the Doctor, and the one thing he did not expect...
