Ok, Ok, so here I am, writing a review of a story that finished years ago. Why you ask? CAUSE MORE PEOPLE SHOULD BE TALKING ABOUT THIS GODDAM BEAUTIFUL FANFIC! now, with all that emotion liberated in my heartfelt shout, I must admit that I was a bit iffy at first about this story, but boy oh boy did you prove me wrong. This is so damn good, I don't know how you managed it but you somehow manage to get all of the characters to not be OOC. How did you do it? teach me your ways sensei! *bows dramatically*
Ehm, with that out of the way. I'm just incredibly shocked that you managed to handle all of this this well, It's just amazing. I must specially congratulate you on not shrinking away from more of the embarasssing/uncool/horriffying realities that are starvation. I expected a sappy story of Sanji and the others moaning about how hungry they were but instead you decked me with a fist full of nakama feels, punched me in the gut with good story telling, threw me away with the muscles of wonderful characterisation and finished me off with the best fluff and story I've ever read.
The only thing I can really say is well done my friend, be proud of the achievement that this fic is, cause let me tell you it's one in a million.

I know you won't see this, but I can't stop laughing at their excitement of meeting "Lola's mom" after the most recent arcs of One Piece. I read this yeeeeeeeeeeears and years ago, back when it first came out, and had this random urge to read all of the old fanfiction stories that really stuck out to me. Just like... Hate to say this, but the canon-continuity in the story didn't really add up after almost a decade. Ha ha ha ha.

God, this chapter was so funny. Heart-warming, yes, but funny even more so. So many good lines...
“But Zoro’s good at starving!”
“What the fuck is that supposed to mean, ‘good’ at starving? If anyone’s ‘good’ at starving here, surely that should be me.”
“Sanji, you’re really skinny!”
“O-SOI!” btw, in Japanese, that means “slow,” in case you didn’t know. Actually, you probably did, seeing that you put it in the appropriate place. OSOI!
“You’re supposed to say something about how it’s your fault too, you jerk!”
“But I didn’t do anything- ow Chopper, quit biting my leg!” I can totally see that happening
‘“How should I explain this...” he muses, as if I’m the idiot here.’ Hee hee hee. I love it when the typical idiots (esp. Luffy) point out the idiocy of the saner crew members.
Overall, you really have them in character! Job well done!

I’m surprised that no one is commenting on Sanji’s “Why do I have to be the mom?” thought. It’s so good! And Sanji does seem like a mom sometimes, the way he worries over and tries to take care of others and brings his common sense to the fore (sometimes).

hey, so, I know you probably weren’t expecting any reviews seven years after you wrote this, but here I am. I read this fic probably around four years ago when I first caught up to One Piece and it’s still stuck with me very clearly! i really enjoyed it when I read it. I have a lot of love for a lot of details in this fic, though they’ve gone kind of fuzzy in my memory after all this time. I love sanjis characterization throughout—he’s not my favorite strawhat, but this fic really reminds me why I like him. I also love the scene with Sanji trying to quit and Luffy making up a new crew just to get him to rejoin. this was nicely written and i enjoyed it a lot. i also enjoyed how everyone convinced Sanji to let them go off eating as well, and Zoro trying to keep not eating even after they’re saved. also, how’s it feel to have been right about big mom being lola’s mom (even if the relationship between them was... definitely very different...)? that’s pretty cool! another detail that stuck with me after all this time is calling sanjis noodle dance “shimmering” (i’m like, 99% sure that was this fic but it’s been a while), that was hilarious.
sorry this review is four years late (and seven years after this fic’s completion...), but I was thinking about this fic today and reminiscing about it on twitter and I realized I should finally review and tell you how much i loved it and how much it stuck. better late than never, right?

Great story, really enjoyed it. You have little mistake tough. First Chopper is 15 and in another chapter 17. Dunno why but that annoyed me a lot :p

I really liked this story. You kept everyone in character throughout the whole thing and I especially loved those nakamship moments between Zoro and Sanji... You did a really good job on this! :)

That argument was kinda gross, but also funny. Really liked the last line! :)

What Luffy said about Zoro liking sweet riceballs with dirt was so funny! XD it was pretty hard not to just burst out laughing and probably make everyone around me think I'm crazy... And I really liked that sweet nakamship moment Zoro and Sanji had, I absolutely love moments like that. And of course Luffy's logic can break anyone's brain...
I think this is probably one of my favorite chapters, awesome job! :)
