WOW - so not what I expected. Um - you seem to have re-invented both of the characters (more Gaila than Kirk though.) It's a good story, well written with good descriptions - it's just not Star Trek hardly though.

Happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy. Gaila and Kirk deserve happy. BUT I want to see a killer proposal scene in the new Mend. More happy fluffy please. Happy fluffy kisses and hugs and loves and proposals! And I love that Gaila says she just knew because sometimes you do and its the scariest coolest most terrifyingly awesome damn feeling in the world.

Aww, I'm happy for Gaila, she's been thru so much. She and Jim deserve some happiness.
