Okay, so I just finished this story. Is it good? Well, it is more certain better than most other. Certain ideas are fascinating, like an Avatar going bad and being cut off (and I admit the identity of said Avatar makes sense, even if I figured it out half-way into the story). Honestly, I found a lot of the stuff in this story matches what happens in TLOK Book 2 (or the worst one), and I think it works better here than in TLOK because they are used with characters we are already familiar with and have a better idea of how their mind works. However, I do have some issues:

1) The relationship drama between the characters seems to go to a ridiculous extent (and this is specifically Zuko, Mai, and Jin because how it made it also made Ursa feel a bit strange to me, especially when she should've known Mai and not judge so harshly).

2) I wasn't too sure about the writing in certain places (and this could be more of a personal preference). For instance, the dialogue at times didn't match up with the personalities of certain characters and/or made other characters seem pretty generic (e.g. Ozai's speeches did feel more cliche than what we saw in the cartoon, or Azula using more colloquial lingo, instead of her menacing tongue she used even at the end of the cartoon). Which does lead into:

3) Some characters often didn't feel genuine. While I can understand each one's motivations (mostly anyway), their actions and dialogue didn't seem convey that all the way. Characters like Azula and Aang going through their struggles, but there are certain things that take away me from enjoying their journey, whether it would be the dialogue or drama or even the way they acted towards their peers. Other characters seemed a bit out of place and/or could have been replaced with (like Hama could have been in Pythos' place). Even characters like the guru felt a bit weird to me because the way he was portrayed felt a bit too, well, based. This also does tie into Ozai's fate which did feel a bit anti-climatic, which I do get where you were going with it but it felt off to me of why the one to do him in would do that to begin with.

Do I think the story is bad? No. I do see a lot of potential. I think the story could probably get a B- or a C. It has great ideas. Just improve on executing these ideas in the future. I hope that is done with the other stories you write in the future. Best wishes, and take care.

i love this story. I think you should do an epilogue where we can see what happens in the future with Aang and the Gang. I love it though.

.A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. I have no words. It's like watching the original series. I mean, there's not much Kataang, but that's why I LOVE it. Everyone else sometimes adds too much fluff, but you, you add just the right amount of it! This is something I just enjoy reading!

Loved everything about it. The Meng part was very touching

We all know that the complexities of Ozai and Azula are debatable at LEAST and your take works well for the story you've made and is acceptable.
I for one think you got characters done right.
The whole business with putting the avatar duties first seemed...foolish. (At first)
But when it is reveale that Koh is creating these problems to prove his point it's is understandable.
On a side note~
But uh... Way to end on the note of natural repopulation... Totally didn't influence me to check out some rule 34 or anything.

The ending of chapter 20 does so well for the imagination...I'm hype

Is Koh a good spirit now!? The plot thickens...
But props to actually making the position of "Avatar" seem like something someone might not want. The Canon never really made it very unappealing.

Avatar Ko-Rei doesn't sound like he was a bad guy. He was was trying to attain peace by any means necessary. Sometimes you gotta sacrifice some in order to save many, that sounds real. But that's why I don't get why he would help Azula... Aw isn't trying to attain peace or anything noble at all! At least Ko-Rei kind had a holy goal. "Peace by any means"
What does Azula have? "Revenge at any cost?"

Great story! :-) Can I see more of aang? Oh and did he rebuild his culture? I really love the air nomads! :-)

Heavily lacks kataang romance in my opinion. But besides that, this is an excellent story.

Excellent. Absolutely fantastic. I am at a loss for words. I could see everything play out before my eyes - the characters, the battle scenes...everything. I was absorbed into the story the whole time. I loved how you made Ozai manipulate Azula and all the other twists. Great job and keep writing! XD

Very amazing story. I like how you made the fifth air temple flying. I also thought the character ko-rei was genius. I also liked the little quotes you added from the show and how Aangs speech brought everyone back together.
