Reviews for Blue Sub No 6: The Year After, Part 4
AZN chapter 1 . 4/5/2013
I was wondering about Verg after the end of the series, with whatever happens in fanfiction, I'll still never come up with what he could have the potential to do.
Guest chapter 7 . 3/27/2013
I went and look up human animal hybrids and chimeras, it turns out hybrids and chimeras are not the same thing. A human animal chimera is either a human with animal parts but will still have human children, or an animal with human parts that either have human children or animal children( e.g. catwoman gives birth to normal kittens, not humanized ones, or not kittens but normal human babies). Technically, chimeras are not really a seperate species from humans, but rather a human or animal that just simply looks different, but is of the same population woth the same genetics. In other words, in real life, Tia's baby would be an ordinary human, no fish or cat features, because although Tia looks part cat and fish, she human because thats her genetic dominance, otherwise she only gives birth to kittens or baby koi-fishes.

Makes you wonder huh? Even the geep(goat-sheep chimera), could only have goat, or sheep babies, depending on which one the geep really is. It was comfirmed by scientists.

AZN:

What Shane said was only one reason.

Another reason is that Verg had grown to love going around murdering innocent without caring how wrong it is, and his was technically doing it for himself, plus his reason for doing so is just simply invalid, especially since no human boy would go around commiting murder because his father told him to. This proves that Verg had developed into a person that can easily described as pure evil, and a murdering monster, and will forever have that nature unless put down for good. Since Verg leads all the attacks, it makes it look like Verg is the one who clearly started the war and sadness, and only his death would stop it.

Also, sometimes audience picture themselves in the universe of what ever they watch or read. For Blue 6, can you imagine living peacefully in whats left of your destroyed home, then chimeras come to burn and murder the innocent lives of people who mean nor harm and prefer not to fight, and the murderers enjoy it? Suppose the Ghost ship came and burned someone who you love? Would you not hate the who responsible and prefer he dies?

Also, Katsuma clearly came to meet the Zorndyke and make peace, but Verg intentionally went and tried to murder him and Hayami, but instead captured him and turned him into something hes not, plus Verg probably tortured him horribely before that. This also proves obviously Verg didnt want peace, he wanted violence and murder. Can you imagine if it was a child human girl he captured?

Since this is the obvious nature of Verg, he can easily be what the audience would think as a character who is a sick evil murdering monster who kills for no valid reason, and deserves to die no matter what. Because this was his nature the whole time, it means that could later return murdering, even when he knows his papa prefers he dont.

What Anon said may not be fan preference, but its no doubt a preference from most audience who see such as a character and compared to most evil monsters based on modern knowlegde.

As for the ending, well it made it look like the series was canceled after only 1 out of 2 seasons.

Thank you for yourclarifying Shane, your points make sense. I'm too concerned for characters like Verg, I can't help it :(
Shane Ward chapter 1 . 3/11/2013
AZN:

I think the hate for Verg was on the way he treated his female counterparts. Sure he loved Papa and believed in what Zorndyke wanted, but after the audience saw his behaviour towards other members of his own kind, and then the eventual sexual harassment—or rape—of Mutio, it was the last straw. Sure every story needs an enemy and unfortulently Verg was it.

At the end, if Verg did not do those horrid things to Mutio, they might have understood the ending and lived happily with it. But because of his behavior, no one can see the irony of it. It’s like a wife returning home to her abusive husband.

AZN chapter 11 . 3/11/2013
I just dont understand all of the hate for Verg, he's selfish and envious, but this is eclipsed by his love for his Papa and what he thinks Zorndyke wanted. I disagree with Anon in this being a true sequel, that's just a dumb thing to say. I don't care for pairings, and No, getting rid of Verg is not "huge fan preference", it's just your preference.

The way Blue Sub 006 ended made it unique, no chippy happy endings, it's relatable, it's not like a bad movie. . It takes time to heal wounds like that, Verg included. "Oh, you expected a happy ending?" Verg was a troubled character, and had a multitude of problems, even going as far as to beat Mutio; you can't ignore that attitude and hate was rampant amongst everyone, and wasn't the worst in Verg.

This is a true sequel to Blue 6. And what i really love about it is that not only did you 100% capture the, settings themes and backgrounds of the characters and the Blue 6 Universe, plus some stuff from the games. But also you included all the huge Blue 6 fan preferences such as getting rid of Verg, paring Mutio and Hayami, with the addition of Jake and Tia, and restoring the world so that life can continue. This is how I wanted the events to happened after the downer ending of the OVA, and the happy ending of the Playstation game.

You sir, I consider a pro-writer.
Guest chapter 11 . 11/13/2012
Your story has the same theme as the OVA. Only this plot ends with a more satisfying ending, with the oceans and land restored, and the Hayami & Mutio pairing finally being made, plus Jake & Tia as additions.

Overall, without a doubt, the best Blue 6 fanfiction to date. I hope it inspires an actual sequel.
David Praderio chapter 11 . 11/6/2012
I have to say this was a really good story, I'm glad to see your a creative person. Out of the entire series though I have to admit that the most amusing part of it was when Jake and Tia first meet. The feelings he felt kind of made me laugh when I started thinking of it like Alien.
Radical Dream chapter 11 . 7/7/2010
Beautiful ending! I had wished that Tia still lived. I was shocked that you had her die. Very surprising twist with loads of cliff hangers. But an awesome job well done!
dspprince chapter 11 . 6/23/2010
Beautiful ending. Im happy for Jake, and im happy to see a lovely Mutio & Hayami ending. Thanks for getting rid of Verg in style, i hated him since the beginning of the OAV, especially seeing him torturing Mutio. If there are more BS6 stories of having a human-hybrid children with the mother as the dominant part, it will become official maybe.

Tsk, another good story is finished. Really hope GONZO finishes the live action movie.
Darigaaz-the-Igniter chapter 11 . 6/22/2010
A lovely ending. That was a nasty way to get rid of Verg, but I think he deserved it.

I am a bit dissapointed since you didn't follow up on the Kino-Icarus thing. It was pretty obvious she had the hots for him and I don't think you'd let a nice guy like that just get caught in the ice storm.
Gediminas chapter 10 . 6/13/2010
Why? Why Tia had to died? She like Muteo should have survived all this what Jake will have to do with out her and their child?
dspprince chapter 8 . 5/9/2010
Don't kill Tia. Everyone knows it is a crime to get rid of a good character.
Gediminas chapter 8 . 5/9/2010
Great job I'm waiting for new one i hope it will come soon.
