Somehow I missed this when you first published it, but seeing its sequel in the archives made me want to look for it. Very glad I did! :D And given the world of LoM/A2A, it's a highly possible and believable AU :p Off to read the sequel now :)

Well... to be honest it's difficult to envisage Gene being this pleasant and cheerful, but there was still lots to like in this chapter. Great how you wrapped up all the endings as happy - except poor Sam's which was unexpectedly bittersweet. The personalised charm bracelet was a gorgeous, inspired idea - and I also like 'Click of the switch, vision of the future', what an original way of incorporating it! The whole story has sewn LoM and Ashes together very well, and been an original and enjoyable read.

You're very good at getting the incidental characters' voices - I could hear Summers saying his lines. This was all very easy to visualise - well done. And I loved Gene's epitaph!

Just catching up with this fic, months later! Still fascinated to see the way you are treating this story. I liked the way all the characters got their say, and we got to see much more of their feelings as a result. I thought Molly blowing out the candles was a very good way to represent that either she or Alex is dead - and Alex's response was tragic.

Just loved all the ghosts - well, especially the Ghost of Christmas Past! And his explanation of what happened - that HURT.

Very nice take on the original, I must say. Nice fitting of the "living" characters. Brilliant :)

I love the way you end your fics on a high! I like the image of them all sitting round having a drink in Nelsons, thanks for another great fic x

Just read the last two chapters after being away from the computer for the past week and a bit and I heartily congratulate you on a job well done. Having been familiar with the basic plotline of A Christmas Carol I knew what Christmas yet to come would be like but it was nice to see it with an Ashes twist. I loved the ending and the fact that Gene and Alex made up. I also enjoyed the epilogue with Nelson and his three spirits watching the events unfolding on the TV.

Loved it as always and I've saved the last chapter especially for the night before I go back to work to round off Christmas nicely. I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy now. My fave Xmas fic ever! :)

In fact I'd say this is the best version I've read/seen (yes even including the muppet christmas carol haha)
