I've been reorganizing my favorites list and I came across this fic which I actually read back in like 2012 and I couldn't help but think that it kind of reminds me of the season 8 finale? With the whole Sam thinking Dean doesn't care anymore thing and the feeling like he's been replaced (here by Cas, on canon by Benny) and Idk but I'm now convinced they took inspiration from your wonderful fic to write that last episode lol.

"He knows things have been rocky lately, earthquake rocky, and Dean's been pissed, but Sam should know that he still cares about him. Right?" That bit specially reminded me of this bit of Dean's dialogue: "Listen, man, I know we've had our disagreements, okay? Hell, I know I've said some junk that set you back on your heels. But, Sammy...come on."

And Idk, but I had to share my "discovery" with someone. Anyways, the fics amazing and I love your writing.

This is absolutely beautiful. Their relationship at this point in the show is so messed up but you captured every facet of it perfectly as they began to work things out. Starting from Jo and Ellen's death to Sam putting together all of the pieces (some of which weren't even there) and having a complete breakdown and Dean trying to figure it out and their coming back together at the end to some kind of normality. Was wonderful. Perfectly in character. Everything was so spot on. Lovely.

Awesome story. I've been too busy writing fan fics to read any these days so it's good to find one that offers that lost brotherly feeling from a season that was more often than not so hurtful to watch. Great job!

*nabs four tissues* Ha, I was looking for one story and found this one and wow! Awesome story! Seriously, I can't believe they leave so much undone and unsaid in the series. You've tied that all up beautifully and I loved how Sam smashed up all the glass; I would have done the very same thing. He hurt so much inside that he felt nothing outside. Your characterizations were perfect. -and I dare believe that later one Dean hid the crowbar someplace else. ;)
