Guest chapter 1 . 10/7/2011 What a beautiful story. I'm really impressed. You chose the perfect words, wonderful! |
CKLizzy chapter 1 . 12/28/2010 Originally I only wanted to read the sequel of this story. I'm not that much into sequels and prequels; still, given that there are not so many good Stella/Mac fics (I admit it, I'm quite demanding when it comes to my reading), I thought it would certainly do no harm ;) Anyway. Had I known that it would make me cry, I probably would have thought about it twice. Though I'm not in any way personally involved - I knew no one who died this day, I don't know anyone who has lost someone, it's not even my country. And yet it shocked me so much that the memory still makes me cry. Your story was incredible touching. Mac is hurt deeply, and Stella might be the only one who is able to help and comfort him (when you look at how they interact in the show, how close they are), and your story shows this perfectly. The description of how the dam finally breaks, how he finally lets go and cries, and how she cries with him - it's so heart-breaking. They are so lucky to have each other. I don't know what the author's intention was when they developed the characters, and their relationship (and for once, I'm only talking about their friendship) throughout the first six seasons, but sending Stella away without so much as a reaction of Mac (as far as I know), and only a message to Lindsay (huh?) - as we know, what we don't see or what isn't said on-screen hasn't happened - that's something I have no words for. Therefore I'm always happy to read fics (even when they're pre-series) dealing with the relationship of those two, how deeply they care for each other, realistically. And you caught them, their behavior and very, very good. Thanks for writing, and thanks for sharing. And I guess I don't need to say anything about the present tense ;) |
Wildweasel chapter 1 . 4/7/2010 Well, I come across that story a while ago but hadn't got the time to put a review, so here I'm, a bit late though :) If I remember correctly I think I got hooked up at Silent comfort, b/c of this one. This story is just plain perfect to describe how Stella helped Mac after 9/11 and how he coped Claire's death. Really it's always a pleasure (well a bit sad from the theme) but a real great moment of comfort that you give. I love that story before and I'll keep it into my heart as the perfect definition of friendship, lost love and future love. You know the way you describe Stella's feelings and how she imagines what Mac feels and thinks is pure warmth coming from the heart. Maybe I've still in my mind that new chapter you post for Silent comfort and that I read this morning (still have to post a review for it) but my mind just linger into these great words you put magically together to give us this golden piece. So thanks really for this work. this is pure gold for me! :) WW |
BlueEyesOnly chapter 1 . 3/3/2010 Very nice story. I like it! |
bran4ever chapter 1 . 2/28/2010 There were a few extra commas that didn't need to be in there, but the story more than made up for the tiny grammar errors. I'm not any better myself with my grammar, but I don't know if I could write something as deep as this. I loved it. |
ccs chapter 1 . 1/14/2010 Very, very nice one-shot! I enjoyed reading! |
iheartcsinewyork chapter 1 . 12/8/2009 This was beyond words hon, you knocked it out of the park, I'm so proud! I loved it, absolutely LOVED it! |
csi-ncis chapter 1 . 12/8/2009 wow that was amazing! you did an excellent job writing! :) great job, you have a great view on what happened then with Mac & Stella. |
Ditte3 chapter 1 . 11/26/2009 Absolutely touching. |
conche chapter 1 . 11/25/2009 A great story. Once again, you have gone where I think the people who created Mac Taylor want us to be. So often in the TV show, he seems so one dimensional, but they really don't have enough time to develop stories like this one. As I said, a truly wonderful story and a glimpse at the other side of Mac Taylor. |
lily moonlight chapter 1 . 11/25/2009 It was definitely worth it and I definitely enjoyed it! I admire you for taking such pride in your writing, and the effort and time has paid off. This was excellent. I thought it was very well written, and it had a lot of power and emotion in it. I liked how you made some lines stand alone as well such as 'A man who still wears his wedding ring', that worked well. I loved how this was written from Stella's POV also. I believed in the characters and their emotions and I believed in Stella's love for Mac and what she will do and continue to do for him, and how Mac, without saying, loves her for that. Excellent. |
Lime Sweet Pea chapter 1 . 11/25/2009 Wow, I really enojoyed this. The entire setup was really nice. I loved the approach you took- doing it from Stella's POV. And I agree that it's nice to see Stella support Mac. Great work! |
dogtanian chapter 1 . 11/24/2009 that was great, it was beautiful and emotional, i really liked it! |
SMackedFan chapter 1 . 11/24/2009 Wow, this was really great! I'm sure Stella was the one who was there for him :) You displayed the emotions beautifully. Well done! |
whispers of willows chapter 1 . 11/24/2009 This was heartrendingly beautiful. You managed to grab a hold on both of the characters and write them perfectly, but still added some new layers to their personalities. Great job! I put this on my favorites already. :) |
