Finally made an account! Been following this story since like 2015 (: super excited for the next chapter

Sorry for the late response RubyBlight, but I must say that was bittersweet chapter. Yes Eddy's relationship with Ed and Double-D is back and now maybe stronger than ever. Although Double-D heading off to college early is a game changer for their dynamics again. Without Sockhead around, I'm sure Ed and Eddy's antics could potentially rival those of Beavis and Butthead's lol. Still, it's refreshing to see that the Eds are all on good terms again. As you mentioned yourself in the story, only a couple of months went by in their time, but for us readers, it has been years.

This is honestly one of the few fanfictions I give a damn about anymore and I'm glad to see it still being updated. I can't help but feel like it shall conclude soon, but that's fine, all good things have to come to an end at some point. Seeing stories like these makes me wish I read and wrote as much as I used to when I was younger. I've been bogged down in school work for awhile, but I'll be graduating from college soon, and once that's out of the way, maybe I'll have some more free time to pursue what I like outside of work again.

I'm hyped to see what happens next, RubyBlight. Keep up writing, you are honestly better at it than over 95% of the userbase here on this site. I'm not sure what's in store next on the agenda, but I'll be eagerly waiting to read and find out.

I like how calm and serene this chapter felt, and the way you describe the characters’ thoughts and emotions is great and well-written, as always. This story is so well-written! So good to see another chapter! I'm glad Eddy is getting another chance to fix his friendship with Double D and Ed. The emotions were intense in this chapter given the serious situation. Again, it was very well-written! Looking forward to the next chapter!

Wow, it's been awhile since you've last updated this. I've lost access to my old account (Neo H.B.B. Sam), and I've also lost interest in fanfiction a lot over the years. But this story, this story I'm glad to see that you're still updating it. Slowly but surely, hot damn do you still do a fantastic job of captivating your audience with it, RubyBlight. It's hard to believe this story is nine years old now. I was still a high school kid way too confident in his writing abilities back when this story first came out. I understand you've definitely been busy in life like so many, and it can be hard to find motivation to sit down and write for fun sometimes when there's other stuff to take care of.

Still, shit really did hit the fan during this chapter. Eddy's fake ass new friends really cemented themselves as useless, and now they're definitely getting some jail time for driving away from an accident, especially since Eddy notified the authorities about them. Of course, such tragic times like these do strengthen bonds the best, like how Eddy has been given a second chance by Ed & Double-D again. In a way their fire-forged friendship is heavily built upon all three Ed boys going through all the same shit growing up, akin to soldiers becoming battle brothers in war. Death is a tragedy, and Eddy isn't lying that this death could've been prevented, but not foreseen. As a Minnesotan, I know winters aren't all pretty Christmas cards, and you've done a great job capturing how harsh and hectic the cold can truly be. I've known a few people IRL who've passed away in the winter thanks to its sheer cold and ice, from freezing to death in subzero temperatures, to slipping on the ice and rupturing your insides (which is most likely how this man died after Sabin hit him I'm assuming).

Thank you for still continuing this story, RubyBlight. The only reason I didn't read this sooner was due to being busy in life and not seeing a notification, since this is pretty much the last fanfic I read now. Keep it up, after all these years a conclusion to Don't Drift will be satisfying, I know you have it in you.

Glad to see you back. Can't wait to see where this goes.
