Yay hot sexy ending for our poor stressed out Naruto! lol Awesome story and I just freaking knew Kakashi had something to do with it! Honestly I thought Sakura did too but it is even better that she didn't! We all know that Sasuke loves Naruto and to spend every cent he has to let the entire village know that Naruto is his? Ooohhhh it's so romantic! (They are dumb boys and have to make everything difficult but still yay for their type of romance!) Awesome lemon because we all love lemons!

This simply made me laugh. Everyone (including the readers) knew it would be Sasuke. Everyone, but Naruto. The fact that Naruto topped surprised me, considering how vulnerable he seemed beforehand, but it was a nice surprise. And that lemon! You weren't lying when you said it was long! It was amazing, simply awesome. Although it would have been nice to see Sakura and Kakashi making bets on who would top, it ended well. -The Book Of Time

This is going to be a mostly critical review, so I apologize for that in advance, but I found the fic to be rather uneven. It was serious enough that by the end of the fic I pretty much forgot this was listed under the "humor" genre. The whole second half of the fic is quite serious, from their impassioned argument to the sincerity of their lovemaking and confessed feelings, that it didn't read like humor fic at all any more.

In contrast, the humor parts really fell kind of flat. Partially this was because the second half of the fic took a straightforward romance approach, which consequently made everything that came before it look awkward in comparison. But it was also because I didn't find the whole setup very funny or believable. They weren't in SUCH dire need for a school that Naruto had to go this far. (The temporary classrooms would have sufficed. Lots of schoolchildren get by every day under similar conditions and worse.) And his friends really, really overstepped their boundaries to the point where I couldn't understand why Naruto put up with it all.

Ultimately, I thought the fic was stuck between not going far enough with the humor to truly be funny (the entire fic needed to be funny, not just part of it), or going too far with it. (If part of the fic was going to be serious, then the humor part needed to be a little more realistic and not so far-fetched.) Either way, both halves of the fic really needed to match in order for the fic to work and in my opinion, they didn't.

I think because I ended up feeling more like this was a serious fic than a humor fic, it made me really hate all the side characters (because I took them seriously rather than laughing at their antics). I hated their plan to pimp Naruto (supposedly for his own benefit) and hated the fact that it ended up costing Sasuke his entire legacy. (What did he need to bankrupt himself for when locking Naruto and Sasuke into a closet would have gotten them the same results? Iruka & co. didn't need to resort to ransom in order to hook NaruSasu up. But really, it's not just the money, it's also the fact that it came from his dead family that wasting the money like that was more troubling than romantic.) And because the part with Naruto and Sasuke was serious, I found their entire conflict weird. To show you how out-of-sync with the fic that I'd gotten by that point, this was my train of thought as I was reading it:

Sasuke didn't talk to Naruto for a whole year because Naruto wasn't talking to Sasuke...? How do two people who are (secretly) in love with one another let something that juvenile go on for a year? "Because they are boys" doesn't cut it. Firstly, men are not that dysfunctional. Secondly, Naruto and Sasuke are coworkers with mutual friends in common, so that level of avoidance would get awkward REAL quick. They'd be forced to do something about it, whether they liked it or not, because they'd be making everyone else around them uncomfortable.

Rather than second-guessing it, I should have been just going with the flow because this was a crack universe and I was sucked into the story. But the fic had pretty much stopped trying to be funny at that point, so as a reader, I was forced to take their conflict seriously and found it to be a weak reason for them to be arguing.

It's really too bad. I think if the fic had taken a stronger direction between either humor or romance, it could have worked much better. Personally, the main thing I did end up liking about the fic was that the sex itself was quite lovely. The whole scene was terribly erotic and very emotional. I just wish the fic surrounding the sex had been just as sincere as their lovemaking was. Either that, or their was no sincerity between them and they had full-on bad sex where they argued the whole way through (and we continued to laugh the whole way through).

At any rate, I do want you to know just because this particular story didn't work for me, it doesn't mean I think you're a bad writer. I think you write quite well, actually. All the best and I wish you luck on your continued writing.
