This is excellent. The tension, them both knowing this is a Bad Idea, but neither being able, as guilty and desperate and in pain as they are, to find another way, and so doing it anyway...and then to find that words spill out and it helps after all...excellent. And then for the practical jokes to begin right back up and Gibbs just to scold the guys for being dorks and tell Ziva he's glad she's back. Lovely.

Once he would have been able to tell what she was thinking, be able to look into her eyes and have a fair inkling as to the secrets hidden in the chocolate brown depths. She was always able to read him, but then, he admits, he was always a lot more shallow than she.

Now, he doesn't like to look too closely – far too afraid what he might find.

i love this one, just wish it wasnt a 1 time thing, i dont think the professions of love are exactally necessary, but i was thinking more of the lines she trusts him enough to ask him to take it away and he cares enough to do that at his own expense knowing that it wasnt the best idea and he loves her enough to give that to her anyway... just kinda sad she was gone when he woke up, that kinda bothered me, figured that she would at least leave a note saying thank you or i went home to get ready for work, or i am sorry i upset you telling you all of that stuff, but i had to tell someone, thanks for listening and thanks for taking it away for 1 night... love this story, cept it makes me a little sad
