More people should read this, 'cause it gives such a beautiful insight to Derek's character.

I liked how you showed us his relationship with Andy (or Billy), that could so be it, that they where best friends.

You also gave us some perspective with this line:

-does it matter? Grass, trees. Could be worse-

Says alot about the future, HIS future.

And the brother perspective. (I love stories involving sibling-moments). And the way he look at his brother:

-He was better than me- and

-Kyle would have stopped me, but he wasn't there...-

So beautifull. (and I was thinking, didn't you raise the little kid...?).

And I just loved your ending. Your last paragraph could so easy have been "too sweet" and to much fluff. But it wasn't. And again there's one line staning out:

-...and she wondered whether this was the first time he had cried since the world had ended-

Maybe it was, he was after all the big brother...

Sorry for just focusing on Derek's character in this review. It's not because Sarah wasn't good in this story, cause she was really in character. There's just so few stories focusing on Derek's character, and more than just the soldier.

Thank you! It was nice to read Derek where somebody didn't make him out to be a cold blooded jerk. This man has lived thru hell. It was obvious to me when the episode ran with him and Wisher that the two of them were very close. That is why I figured he made his confession to Derek & what that meaningful look that Wisher gave to Derek just prior to Derek's jump. It seemed to me that Wisher was asking Derek to do exactly what he did. Having to live with it thou must have been tearing Derek apart. Thanks again for showing this.

Deeply moving and beautiful. You've shown us a side of Derek not usually explored in fanfiction. You did a great job of showing that Derek is a complex character full of many emotions that he tries his best to hide. I loved how, as is often the case with siblings, he thought his brother was better than him. I also loved Derek showing his regret and sorrow over killing Andy. This story tugged at my heart!

A powerful epilogue to your existing stories. I wonder how this fits around the existing TSCC canon; will you end it here? Will you kill Derek off now or go off on a different tangent, keeping the Connor clan in the present (don't answer that, I don't want to know if you're going to write more)?
