Really good story, as are all of yours. Hope you continue to write in this 'ship.

This was great fic, not really sure what I expected when I started reading, but had me on edge for little Jack, I fully expected that the Reaper had killed Haley at that point, although I was okay with the take on how this all turned out for her. Aside from the end and her realisation there was very little on the impact this had on her and on her reaction to Jack's attack, although that said, the story centered more around Hotch and his reaction to finding Jack attacked and hurt by the Reaper and his choice to take care of his son with disregard for anyone or anything else so I was okay with the flow overall.

The only bit that didn't quite sit right with me was the team leaving Hotch in the hospital by himself while he waited for his son to come out of surgery, I somehow felt that the team would have or should have stood by him during this vigil especially on the chance of a not so positive outcome and being there to support him through the uncertainty. My two cents!

I wanna applaud you for doing this bit. I know that you must have made a very, very decision in writing this. Though you left the details out, I'm still glad you didn't give us the details of Jack's... torture. I'm also willing to ignore the question of why Foyet left Haley almost untouched (maybe he was going to after dealing with father & son, thought the son will make more of an impact on Hotch than his ex-wife, etc...), because I don't think a lot of us readers won't stand the violence being done to Hotch's sweet little kid. So thanks for sparing us from that.

You were able to convey Haley's realization at the end quite nicely. A more stretched out little flashback would have been nice, but I'm not really complaining. An AU-ish sequel on how that plays out would be nice, but that's up to you, of course.

Nice story! Kidnapping and sadistic choices and a very good choice on when in the story to start and so heartbreaking and so heartwarming. And I like the discussion of the possibility of killing- it's very interesting to think about, considering the canon. Thanks!

Excellent! I loved that scene with Hotch trying to explain everything to an unconscious Jack, and then snuggling up with him. That was wonderful. Loved it!
