That was amazing! Poor Shawn. It’s so true that even for his personality he’s incredibly sacrificial and tries to make people angry or think he’s fine so they’ll leave and he won’t “bother them”.

Gus’s parents always irritated me tho. It’s so like them to just be like “family only” to Shawn. I mean he obviously was giving off those rare vulnerable “My dad doesn’t care and I’m lonely” vibes. Who the heck just looks at a poor kid like that and decides “Oh sure, whatever. This is FAMILY ONLY. He’ll be fine by himself.”

Stupid people!

Sry for the rant but my brother is like that. He’s very expressive and stuff and feels high expectations from my dad. He’s so good at everything but he still pushes himself as far as he can and pushes me away when he’s sad.

Ugh I'm crying because of this chapter. . . thanks a lot. In the series, they don't really go into the amount of anguish Shawn must have felt being raised in a household where his mother wasn't there often and his father had high unreachable expectations. They sort of delve into it, but this chapter really goes into what Shawn must have felt. I really want to wrap small Shawn in a warm blanket and tell him everything is going to be okay. Is it wrong that I sort of hate Gus's parents for being mean and judgemental? They didn't have to put their rejection in such a harsh way, is it really that hard to just give Shawn a short ride home? And that sentence about outing only being for "family" was literally a punch in the gut. Amazing writing though!

I still really want more of this... I really liked the whole 'he can't shut it off' bit and whatnot. And Gus being an awesome friend. So... more, please? PLEASE.

Wow I rarely review but I just watched the episode again and it always seems to leave me needing more. And your fic definitely made up for it. The episode doesn't delve into the whole aspect of Shawn being serious or contemplative very often but I think you characterized he and all the characters very well. Especially Henry and Shawn. Anyways what I'm saying is great job! Keep writing!

this is THE BEST tag to that episode that i've ever read. i mean... seriously. i honestly wish we could have seen this on the screen, because it's amazing. the characters are written to perfection; i laughed out loud more than a few times... i mean, c'mon. it's Shawn and Gus - and they were so in character i could hear their voices, which only made it better. ;) you should honestly write so much more Psych fanfiction, because you have the humor and emotion and character descriptions down to an art. i love this. so, so much. xx

You should do an extra scene of Lassie and Juliet getting a statement! Loved all of if by the way!
