Lovely!
Qoheleth chapter 1 . 3/18/2013
Dear Dryad:

Uh-huh. So what specific fairy tale is this based on, exactly? I don't recognize it.

Sincerely,
Qoheleth
AWESOME chapter 4 . 4/4/2012
AWESOME!
Guest chapter 4 . 1/8/2011
so happy she's ended with the head chef - well, my money was on him since he been mentioned (and if your true love is cooking, head chef is a perfect choice :3) - maybe my belief was shaken a bit with the prince (and we know the origin of this reformed fairy-tale) but he was discovered as a prick-extraordinaire so yeah..:D
wheresmybook chapter 4 . 12/6/2008
I thought that it was very cute! It's rather interesting to read a rude princess rather than a complacent one, and I'm happy that she likes the head cook more than the snobbish prince.
Deritine chapter 4 . 3/20/2008
I really liked this story- but you stopped too soon. The ending was very rushed, and the relationships you ended with (particularly Constantin- I was very against the pairing when it happened suddenly, but you got me to like it enough that I was hoping for a bit more development in that area... but alas...) So much was left unsettled. Like- how or did she get the trinkets back from Marius? And did anyone else ever figure it out? You can't keep stuff like that secret for long- you went into the crazy gossip chain, even. Soon enough her friends will know all about it. Then will she be carted off to the sorcerer? Maybe she will need the royal clout of Marius to get out of that betrothal. Or was her father's spinning of straw to gold enough to satisfy? Maybe she ends up with Constantin and he becomes fully legitimate. Will she end up making more equality for women so that her friend can play for royalty?

See- so many loose ends! I can understand wanting to get it over with, absolutely, but there is so much more potential and investigation that could be done with this world it is a shame to leave off here. Maybe I'll check to see if there is a sequel...
Lady Mage chapter 4 . 2/9/2008
I really enjoyed this story- I know you probably won't consider it, but it would be really nice to have a few more chapters!
Leben ist Magie chapter 4 . 11/13/2007
Okay, this was pretty awesome. I liked the satiric elements to the first chapter, and I loved how you enforced the main theme throughout. Very nice writing style!
corrupted-innocent chapter 4 . 8/5/2007
NO! is that the end? what happens with constantin and clarisse? what about the cat and the ring- did the prince keep them? does dahlia ever become an acknowledged princess again? does rosemary ever get married? what happens? *flails* this is a really good story!
Melika Elena chapter 4 . 3/11/2007
Cute, enjoyable story. I liked how you put your own spin on it, especially with Constantin and Clarisse. The ending is a bit abrupt and I wonder if she ever returned home to her father. A short epilogue might be nice. But otherwise, great job!
celinae chapter 4 . 1/27/2007
The part about them comforting Marlyn was a bit strange, but otherwise I liked the story a lot. The little puns you made about other fairy tales were kinda fun to read (and a bit disturbing, too.. XD Especially the Rumpelstiltskin pun. XD;;) But it was all really interesting to read!
Reader in the Corner chapter 4 . 1/1/2007
How this be the end? What happens with Constantin?

Wonderful job, this is certainly one of the best stories I have read. I really enjoy how you keep it similar, in some things, to original Grimm type fairy tales, yet it is plausible without making the heroine unbearable.
dragonfangjade chapter 4 . 10/1/2006
