Thanks for the ride, and for updating at the very end! It was a great read. I love that the title did actually have something to do with the story after all (and the fact that you chose to reference a classic philosopher!). The general laconic voice, the steamy scenes in the first two chapters, and the way you thrust the readers into this world - acknowledging their intelligence by giving them just enough details to let them piece together the background - is very cool, very subtle and Margaret Atwood-like.

First of all, congratulations on finishing the story. It has been a while indeed. In fact, I couldn't even remember what this particular fic was about, so I opened a can of cold Pepsi and started from chapter one.

I'd forgotten how adult and sensible your Narutos often appear to be. It's very nice, even strangely soothing to see him behave like he does in your stories. Now that I think about it, he actually reminds me of the Naruto we sometimes see in 10-RANKAI's doujinshis.

In the meantime, your Itachis usually make my whole body heat up in the most peculiar - but pleasant - way.

And your Sasukes... Mmm. *sips her Pepsi*

Your Sasukes simply melt in my mouth. Like chocolate. And believe me (or I think you might already know), I've never been a big Sasuke fan, he's never been on my list of Top Ten Favorite Naruto Characters.

But you make him look and sound - desirable. Way more intense than his canon counterpart has ever been.

The story itself is thrilling, perhaps even a bit too thrilling to my tastes. I believe I've told you this a dozen times before, but you knack for how to build suspense, and I admire you for it. And just like the rest of your stories, this one would make a fine movie, too.

The plot is very cleverly knitted around the original Naruto canon, and I like that, I appreciate the familiarity of the setting.

To me, it's obvious that your style changes towards the end, but I couldn't help wondering whether I would've noticed anything, had I not been aware that the story had been on hiatus for such a long time. There is definitely an apparent air of haste and detachment about the final chapter, the spacing is different, the sentences seem shorter than before. However, plotwise, there's nothing wrong with the ending per se.
