It is a interesting story, I like it so far who knows maybe there was a muggleborn studen in Slytherin a long time ago, maybe some purebloods had adopted a mugglechild that had shown powerful magic early one killed his/her parents and took him/her because they can't have children on their own and used some magic on him/her to forget it's parents to think they are his/her parents and have grown up having of course the prejudices against muggles and the cunning of a slytherin landing there but no one knows his/her true lineage. Now I hope you will write on it again please I really want to know how the second year will go with her there and the Basilisk running around. I liked some aspects of this retelling, enough to keep me reading, but it has several flaws which caused me to quit by chapter 11. One is how unchanging and predictable the characters are. Snape's responses to any student can be boiled down to a coin flip between "indeed" and "quite". Hermione's responses to Snape are always awed stuttering, following a pattern of "er - x", where x is generally an acquiesce to a request. Dumbledore is still motiveless and Harry for some reason wants to keep up a friendship with Hermione despite Ron's protests. Other characters were equally one dimensional, like Pansy and Draco. The biggest flaw, in my opinion, was the excessive quoting of the original. Why? We've read the books. You don't need to follow the plot verbatim over and over. So thanks for sharing, but I truly did struggle reading through this and found Snape's overprotectiveness of 11 year old Hermione creepy. Especially when he compared her to Lilly.

I know that it has been years, but your story is wonderful and fairly unique: most Slytherin!Hermione fics do not have HGSS as the end game. I hope that someday you will pick this story back up!
