Ah, Gene Hunt, the secret ABBA fan. This was rather sweet and atmospheric, and the music sets the mood well, though I suspect Alex might wrestle with her conscience and emotions even more than she does here.

But this was the perfect way to end it: "...before getting out of the car, she carefully placed the tape back in the glove compartment, as though it had never been taken from its secret hiding place.."

I love the idea of Gene having a secret tape for Alex to find, and your analysis of her ambivalant but increasingly strong feelings towards him is right on the button. I also like the way you leave it unresolved. But I hope that Gene never finds out that she borrowed the Quattro!

Nice insight into Alex's feelings and I have a feeling that a follow up could easily be done. I'm sure Abba have got another song that Gene could use this time?

Philippa, this is great! The lyrics combined with Alex's thoughts work really well and shows how torn she is about the world she has come from with Molly, and the world she finds herself in with Gene. Plus, love the idea of Gene having a secret liking for ABBA! Thumbs up!
