This story touches my heart so much. The plot is like based on the very true reality. I wish you will write those new awesome ones like this later again.

Wow.

This is one of the best fanfictions I've ever read. I'm the kind of person who is usually asleep by ten, but you had me up till past one in the morning, because I could not put this down. This story has such a unique concept, and you executed it amazingly. The imagery was so vivid to me, I felt like I was actually there. I love how there were four sides(L and Mello, Beyond and Almost, Matt and Near, and Quillish Wammy), and how their choices at the beginning of the story affected all of their lives, how connected and intertwined they all were.

(My only beef is how L's pedophilia was a crucial turning point for the storyline, but then in the last chapter it kinda just goes away. But I understand that it was Quillish lying to both him and Beyond, and making him think that he was a bad person.)

One of my favorite lines(out of many) is what Light says in chapter 2, "There is no such thing as love especially not for people like us!" That quote just stuck with me through the whole fanfiction, especially when it looked like everything was falling apart, and no one would end up happy. In the end, though, L proved him wrong.

I absolutely loved reading this. Quickest 70thousand words ever.

This has got to be some of the most realistic slash Death Note fanfiction I've ever read!
I read all of it in one sitting, and I thoroughly enjoyed the relationships among everyone, and the characterization was pretty stellar, I think.
I also appreciate that you weren't afraid to hit touchy subjects, and everything wasn't gilded roses and fairy dust in the relationship- it had issues and problems, just like in real life.
Overall, I think it's fantastic work. Kudos!

I left a review here a long time ago telling you how awesome the story was but I thought I'd tell you again since I'm rereading it, you really did a great job. The content of the story was controversial and unpleasant territory and you still managed to write it with 'fan' elements, but looking at it without enjoying the touches of 'perverseness' (like reading L/UnderagedMello for the like factor or enjoying Light's lifestyle as you depicted it), the story was good and sad and really well written. Much kudos.

Thanks for this, it's a story I rec to other readers and it's a personal fave.

What a strangely beautiful piece! I have to admit, people rarely step into this type of territory when writing. I think you executed it wonderfully.

The interaction between L and Mello was strangely endearing, dare I say, after things were smoothed out. Light was bitchy, but in such a way that the reader still likes him. Not to mention, I think that's how Light'd truly be in canon if he had won lol.

I think this story has got me hooked on the BB/AA pairing.I definitely want to see more if that. xD Same for Matt/Near.

All in all I greatly enjoyed it, it was very well written and it leaves me wanting more. Superb job!

This reminds me of a combination of Vladimir Nabokov's "Lolita" and Edward Albee's "The Goat", except much more heartbreaking. I read this one or two days ago and can't seem to get it off my mind. I especially love how you actually made sense of the reason for L's paedophelia and showed how he was also one of the victims.

I must say that I've read a few of your stories and it was really a hit-or-miss thing. Some things you wrote were definitely more to my taste than others, but this just hit so hard I couldn't tear my eyes off the screen after the first half of the first chapter. I was blown away.

I know pedophilia is a touchy matter, as well as abuse, but you managed to make all the characters and their actions so real it didn't really matter to me. This story is absolutely beautiful. Flawed, but beautiful nonetheless. I rarely get into Beyond/anything, but even this part came outstanding. Also, kudos for you for the amazing dynamics of Light's relationship with… anyone, really. I think that out of all the characters in the story. Light was the most in character, and although I'm not a Light fan, I loved every bit of him.

In order to do this fiction the proper justice it deserved, I decided I would re-read it all up to this point before taking on the final chapter. Lol, it was torture to wait for it, of course, but I needed to remind myself of everything that's happened in this story since it's been so long since I divulged in anything Death Note related. xD

And so I'd just like to say now, before I forget, that the piano scene in chapter 7 was by far one of the most memorable and beautiful things I have ever read or witnessed, period.

Aside from that, the final chapter was very epic, as usual. I wasn't especting the final twist, which you'd figure I would be, considering how Mello was sleeping around and such, but that sort of thing rarely happens in fanfics, even when the characters DO whore themselves off. Realizing that Mello was going to die, it was very sad. The worst thing was that it could have been prevented if only Mello and L's relationship had been stronger. It was a bittersweet ending, for sure. All the other stories turned out well, though, so it helped.

Ah... I was so glad to see Matt again, too~

You make me want to read more Death note fanfiction, again. X3 Damn youuuu.

This was the first fanfic I have ever read and inspired me to do some of my own :) It was absolutely beautiful and showed the much more human side of L. I Love the ending ~So Beautiful~ It made me cry when Mello found out he has AIDS...

The love between Matt & Near is just so innocent and pure and reminds me of the perfect fairytale lovestory. I love how Beyond eventually fall's in love as well 3

You are an inspiring writer, and seeing as I am very much into psychology due to my own mental problems and my fiancees, You made it very easy to understand and feel for L - at least to me.

It was beautiful.

I read all eight chapters in one sitting and I have to say I feel wonderfully, terribly satisfied. This fanfiction made me CRY. I have a hard time crying over books, let alone fanfiction, so that in itself is a testament to how amazing it was.

It was almost reminiscent of Nabokov's Lolita; have you ever read the book? The early days of young Mello and L traveling together was especially Lolita-esque, as was Mello's desire to go to school. But as the fic went on, it took a life of its own, and went in a beautiful direction.

There were moments that made me squirm; I'm not TOO terribly disturbed by incest, so the B/L didn't make me too uneasy. Almost kinda hot, but the backstory behind it make it slightly uncomfortable. I also squirmed a bit at the non-con; I was outraged with Mello's rape, but it was plot-necessary and I ended up completely forgiving L for it just as Mello did. The relationship between the two was suitably twisted and convoluted at times, but it turned into a real, BELIEVABLE love. I cried when Mello turned out to be HIV positive. I also cried happy tears at their reunion at the end, as well as the bittersweet-beautiful ending with L (i'm guessing he was L, right?) in the dusty house.

I also wanted to add that I loved the romances in the sidestories, and that you made a NOT HORRIBLE Misa. Misa, Mikami and Light's "romance" was... bizarrely sweet. I loved that A and B had a happy ending; no fic with them ever turns out happy because of A's fate in the novel. And B even stopped murdering!

And Near and Matt's relationship was so pure, fluffy and SWEET that it made my teeth hurt. In a good way, of course.

All in all, I'll give an honest critique: you had some shaky moments, but all in all you produced a good, very good fic with realistic relationship dynamics (most of all between mello and L), realistic consequences (very few people have the guts to make one of their characters contract HIV) and a satisfying ending. Putting aside the pedophilia, the rape, the incest, and even the BDSM, this is a true love story and that's the most wonderful part.

So this gets ten out of ten. Amazing work. Officially faved. :)
