just found this story and read both chapters. fantastic lovely galex. i was worried at the start of promise 1 especially when gene died. how sad. But loved the promise 2 and the whole idea of holiday in spain. Loved the corner of burnt letter in warrant card thinking that gene would neve have been able to move on without alex and the fact that he had to have her close to him always. Thank you.

This is so beautiful. I love the idea that, after they both die, they are allowed to go back to the time just after the shooting and start again, that Alex truly is of the past now but can't quite erase all the memories of the future she experienced. Their reunion and sparring is so gentle and tender. I'm still crying whenever I think of Chapter 1, but this has put a smile on my face. Perfect.
