Holy crap I haven't read this fic in AGES but I remember it! It's so adorable, so very in character, so Jayne! And his little star, Seren, nawwwww! Love love love this little slice of future family life!

First,the good news. I felt that the story was pretty well written. Being that the story apparently takes place post BDM,I can make allowances for the slightly off characterizations. Just the bad news. The overall gun story did not make any sense because a merc like Jayne would know that that many guns would use everything from a 5.56 mm to a 9 mm round. Add the weight of all the bullets,the clips and the need for all the spare clips to be close to its weapon, carrying them would be impractical no matter how much he would want 's why most soldiers only carry a pistol,a rifle and a knife. Even only carrying the ammo that is actually in the weapon is repetitive if you are basically taking the same types of ,now that I think about it, a "K" Humor story isn't really geared to my demographic. The only reason that I read it is that I admire your writing and thought that I would give you feedback. So,for the audience,I think you did a good job.

Aw...! I love the idea of Jayne with an armored baby-carrier (and in retrospect his insistance upon carrying every weapon he owns, practically, makes sense - can never be too careful when you're a protective papa!).

What a treat of an ending and of course a lovely surprise! Yay! ;-)

The idea for this was adorable, but you need to work on your voice of Jayne. He's just not so idiotic. For example, he'd never say "youse".
