I see what you did there. This is an amusing situation that could have led to that.. odd dream Dist had. Also, I love the way you write Jade. He's like a lil' bishounen Spock. Especially with the whole Devil thing. I never noticed that actually. Ignorant villagers always call the black sheep the devil child despite them only having odd features or being quieter than the average 'normal' 10 year old running around peeing on the floor.

WHY does this story have no reviews? This is by FAR one of the better stories on the Tales of the Abyss section of this website, and even though it was a oneshot, it made me understand Jade more than any stories (including the sidequests in the game) ever have. Your diction is flawless, and your grasp of Jade was striking. I wanted to read more! I'd strongly suggest doing a series of oneshots involving childhood Jade and Dist, but right now I'm satisfied with this. Your hook was brilliant, and your ending was perfect. Now if only there were more of it! Fave and author subscribe.
