suemon123 chapter 3 . 10/7/2017
I just wanted to let you know what a talented writer you are. I absolutely love this story - your portrayal of Kirk (I always love reading from his POV), his thought process and your portrayal of the crew made me feel like I was there! It looks like you wrote this a while ago, but I hope you’ll be writing more Star Trek fanfiction. Are you still writing on this site or possibly on another? I’m a sucker for hurt Kirk (poor guy) and hope to read more from you. Thanks so much for writing this. It’s one of my favorite pieces of fanfiction.

Nurse Chapel's comment made me LOL!
witchy78 chapter 3 . 2/1/2014
That story was a lovely discovery today. It was really well written, and I know it should not be that important, but it deserves more reviews.
The only thing I woud suggest to you is to make lighter paragraphs, so it's easier for the reader to read, more comfortable.
I really loved it, it was really in characters. Your Bones and Jim were really true to themselves and I love that in the end, Jim gets better when he finally knows that his friend won't leave him alone in the space ;o) Cute, yes cute !

Goomba chapter 3 . 3/20/2010
I wish, I wish there had been more dialogue between Kirk and McCoy, I wanted there to be more emotion, more need and forgiveness and despair and understanding. BUT, I really did enjoy the story and I am amazed at how well I liked it even though the entire piece is one sided from Kirk perspective. It definately gave new perspective to some of the characters and made it easy to follow because some of the more complicated details were eliminated because Kirk simply wasn't aware of most things.

Thanks, Jen

May Eve chapter 3 . 1/9/2010
Hurray! This was awesome, as fantastic as the first part. Though I do kinda miss the panda. I was fond of him. Still! This was tons of fun to read. Very well done, again.
shoreleave chapter 3 . 11/26/2009
I loved the way you conveyed Jim's hurt, confusion, and anger during his recovery, and the way Bones had to deal with Jim's injuries. Well done!
Terin chapter 3 . 10/14/2009
This is lovely, and if I may say, warrants far more reviews than it has here. (Alas, it's not uncommon to see fics of half this quality with twice the reviews). I loved Five to One, but there is something very...mature...about this story in particular. I love that it deals with the specific and messy aftermath of Jim's injuries, rather than just describing their cause, his rescuing, and then showing him magically return to the bridge.

You're right, some parts are slightly rougher than others, though, and if I can give a little con crit, I'd suggest that you unpack your somewhat massive paragraphs and break them down into more manageable chunks (it's easy to get lost in them). Other than that, great job.

This was freaking amazing. Is there another part of this series?
straywriting chapter 3 . 9/12/2009
I wrote the below the other day when I first read your story and I do hope that it makes sense because I told you I was overwhelmed and when I was overwhelmed I wasn’t really making much sense to anyone but myself (I’ve edited it since to make it make more universal sense, I hope). What I want to tell you now that it’s been a few days and I’ve chewed over your fic is that your fic is the most amazing fanfiction I’ve read in my life and that it’s one of the most amazing stories I’ve read in my whole entire life. In no way am I exaggerating. You really, truly, deeply have touched me in a way I’ve never felt before and I’m so darn thankful over the fact because I feel more fulfilled and knowledgeable about life. Now, onto my initial reaction.

You’ve closed my eyes to the world around me, letting me forget everything around myself, and without ever making me open them I have gleamed more from this story then I have from any other in too long, way too freaking long. It’s unbelievable and I just don’t get it ‘cause right now I’m in a complete inner frenzy, clambering to try to go into detail about the pristine inner calm and upheaval you’ve given me all at once. Unless you’re feeling this in the moment you don’t think it’s ever possible, because it isn’t, not normally, not under any extraordinary circumstances either, it just isn’t possible – but it is. And it doesn’t make sense but things have never made more sense then they do in this one single, upheaved moment in my life. I just don’t get it, but I do, and that is the most amazing thing in my life, to be so unconfused but to feel like I should be phenomenally confused about life and it’s meaning but no, I’m clear, clear’s not even the word, I’m just in the know and I /get it/ now. I just GET IT. I get that life is okay, that it’s here for us to live, to live, to live, to live more. I GET IT. There’s no reason not to get it when you spell it all out, so clear, so undeniable, so inviting and welcoming and surrounding and circumferencing and right. It’s all right here and I GET IT. How don’t I get it? I don’t not. I do. It’s here, it’s there, it’s everywhere – reason, life, personal beliefs, they’re all so wonderful you just GET IT at certain indistinct, unforgettable-yet-eventually-lessened-in-hue-like-the-crews’-scars moments in your life. Is it possible to not when it’s all spelled out so clearly to the world? YOU spell it out, now it’s impossible not to. You do. No one else but you and the characters you wrote like majesty, they only make sense from you and you alone. How don’t you see life in all its glory in your story? How don’t you – how. It’s there. Right there. Life, all of it a part of life. It’s the seasons showcasing every single moment- every single unnoticed moment and every single pinpointed, monumental moment of life is here, encased in a perfectly clear case to protect it from the decay of age because this message, the one in this single, solitary story, will never, ever disappear just because time thinks it can wear away on it. People will carry it and hold it and never look back on your story unfondly but always remember it for the significant turn it put into their life. It’s /life/. You have to live it, live it more, live it until forever comes and you can’t anymore.

Celestial Cutie chapter 3 . 9/12/2009
Another Great fic. I think the disorganization and disarray works to discribe Kirk's fractured mind. Face it, even the best would be pretty FUBR after 2 and half months of imprisonment in a place that promotes suffering under a hellish enviroment.

Other than the confusion, there is a sense of resentment on Kirk end, though its not expressed openly.

I also like how you have Chapel cold and intolerant to Kirk. Brings a different perspective to the character. Great Job!
Ginger Ninja chapter 3 . 9/12/2009
You wrote Jim's struggle with all the changes so well. It's something all of us can relate to, and you made it such a brilliant tale.

I cannot wait for your next story :)

AES13 chapter 3 . 9/10/2009
I really enjoyed the mood you created here, very contemplative. I hope we'll see a follow up where Jim can finally get back to his somewhat obnoxious normal self. Thank you! :-)
