Beautiful story! I really, really like it, especialy the way Severus uses his knowledge of the Dark Arts for good and is inspired ny Lily to be good, here. The story of the twin patronus is a great one and working very the end is really omnious - heavy fore shadowing, here. so sad...:(

I LOVED this! I loved this back story OMG, did I mention how much I love this?

The only (minor) complaint I had was when Remus was the one who wanted to abandon the injured doe and James wanted to stay. In my opinion you got the characters mixed up. Sirius selfishly wanted to leave, Lupin wanted to stay. James sided with Lupin but Peter brought up the expulsion thing and Remus immediately caved. James resisted for a brief moment, Remus didn't argue either way, just melted back cowardly and uncertainly and then James agreed and they left.

But the story of the shared memory? OMG I LOVED it. Plus, though I don't agree with James being the good guy to Remus' selfish guy, I suppose it helps to make sense later that Lily would marry the lout.

Oh I think I love you! This is so wonderful! And it makes so much sense. It's sweet and lovely and practical as well. Really beautifully done. I love these missing scene type stories!

No, there aren't many sunny days left. Lily chose James, and by association, the Marauders. After all, her _real_ friends prefer that she not talk to that horrible loser. (though she didn't seem to have any after she married James, did she?)

She probably forgot all about this scene, after all. No good would come of remembering it for her.

A pity that any good memories were so few for Snape.

I love your writing style. This one also iss beyond expectation. Your picture of Severus is sweet yet sad, which is quite believable. In a story I read Imperio was explained as a spell which was originally designed to help some difficult patients. I could agree. It is ironic that Severus is helping the pure creature with his dark spells here, like he helped so-called-light with his so-called-dark self in cannon.

Well, I would wonder who changed this open, kind, heart-at-his-sleeve child into his future self(in Potterverse) and what made Evans into a Potter, but I'd rather not think about some distressing people, would I?

Beautifully written. Your language is incredible - the stillness of the forest and the interruption by the Marauders is so palpable. The Marauders seem quite selfish here as well - I'm not sure if they were really like that in canon, especially Lupin. He doesn't seem the type to just leave the deer hurt or dying...but who knows. The Severus and Lily relationship is really wonderful here - it's so tragic, thinking what's going to come next.

And I loved the foreshadowing for Lily liking James [her theory about how Patronus works "Something that will let you believe you're a good person" must have made her rethink her views about him] and her friendship with Snape ending [the last line about not many more sunny days being left and her lack of reaction to his wanting to best friends forever].
