This is still my absolute favorite "Alice's Backstory" fanfic ever. It's been 9 years but I still hope that you'll continue this one day. I really have enjoyed this story - you are a wonderful writer. I am assuming since this hasn't been updated since 2011, that you are not planning to continue it. That is too bad, based on on the exquisite world you have already created, I think you could have created a most amazing connection with the original storyline. If you ever feel so inspired, I would be honored to continue reading your story.

This story is absolutely, heartstoppingly, amazingly written. I can't get the images, the characters, or the visuals out if my head. The way you've so expertly managed to capture Alice as a human, and the perfectly imperfect way you write the people around her... I don't even know how to properly portray how much I have enjoyed reading the 10 chapters you have posted here.

I know it's been a while since you've updated, but I do hope that there is more if the story to come at some point. I would adore seeing its ultimate (if bittersweet) resolution.

While the doctor's diagnosis was probably as good as it could have been, considering, I'm super freaked out by him (as I'm sure you intended). What is his deal? Is he a pedophile? Or is he just creepy in general?

Oh, yes! I'd forgotten what the lady from chapter one's name was. That would be Franny...and she was Mary's half sister. It doesn't sound like she ever knew that.

I loved your description in the beginning of Mary's colors. It reminded me of Stephen King's Insomnia. Very much the same thing - someone with an altered consciousness could see a person's life force in the form of auras.

Is Francine Ethel's daughter? Wow, that could be super complicated for all...
