I just stumbled upon this little gem and am so glad I did. I love the idea of Ayala as Chakotay's sounding board, also because it shows us the journey through somebody else's eyes. Loved Ayala's observations on the relationship between captain and first officer. I'm not sure you will continue this story at all, I just know I'll come back to it from time to time. Favourited!

Love seeing this interaction between Chakotay and Ayala. Wish you had been able to continue it, even if only for a few episodes each season. Nicely done.

I really love this other side to Chakotay we're seeing and the development of his relationship with Janeway from someone who knows him so well, I always found it odd that Ayala isn't used as a confidant or whatever for Chakotay very often.

Great chapter! Love the poker comments, both of them are great. Love Chakotay's lament about always being alone or with someone like Tuvok when in near death situations. Janeway's reaction to "the look" is spot on for her. I also just love the end.

Well, I was going to wait until I had read all the posted chapters before posting FB, but chapter 3 pushed me over. It made me actually chuckle out loud - very good! The interchange between Chak and Ayala ref Chakotay and the captain is wonderful, very well done. I also especially like the end - love and sex, hand in hand, Chakotay.

I don't check the M rated stories very often, but when I did and saw your name I was sure I had found a story I would enjoy. I was right. The concept is terrific and I look forward to many more chapters.
