I can't express to you how much I freaking love this. Its probably one of my favorite fics of all time. I mean, I know it's a less common trope "Oh they think someone is dead but surprise they're not!" but with Bruce and Sick and Alfred, it's different. Because Bruce has the power to absolutely confirm it before rushing to conclusions, unlike a lot of people. He personally called the airline owner, had Superman search the wreck, etc... Where in other families, there might just be some missed communication or other small thing that made them believe their loved one had died. But this is BRUCE and DICK. Batman and Robin. Batman, the World's Greatest Detective. And he had ultimately determined that Dick had died. He might have been in denial until perhaps dental matches were made but he had likely already rationalized that Dick wasnt coming back. Also, holy heck, I love the way you put Alfred in this. So many people seem to just forget about him... He's every bit a part of the family, he cares just as much for his "children". It reminds me of that issue of Injustice League where *spoliers* Dick dies and Alfred is shown stewing in the dark, a mess, with a nearly empty bottle of alcohol. He's not just their butler, he's family. So yeah I freaking freaking love this, you wrote it so amazingly. I feel bad for Dick, cause I know what it's like to have someone think something terrible happened to you, and you're oblivious to it all. You feel really guilty even though you didn't actually do anything. I love the end but where Dick is like "I said I'd be back for your birthday dinner." So many feeeeels. You also had me momentarily convinced that you had actually killed him, towards the end when Alfred broke down. Usually I'm in doubt or suspicious the whole way but this one actually got to me. I was beaming at the end. FANTASTIC job.

Wow.. this was.. wow... You completely had me hooked on this. I really thought he had died ;; Really great job writing this. So happy he lived in the end. lmao, a sequel for the League and the Titan's reaction to his being alive would have been epic. I can just imagine Wally and a few others just hugging him to death and saying something really sappy xP Great fic.

Yay last minute asspull! Whew. So much sad. I hope one of them spent part of those twenty minutes getting the word out so the rest of the grieving doesn't continue indefinitely! Dick was on oddly good terms with Bruce here for nearly-nineteen, I must say, even if the age he actually split seems to vary from fifteen to twenty-something depending on the continuity and context. (Given that even with the most generous estimates it is impossible to resolve the Robins' ages into anything rational, I'm not too worried about this, but it did puzzle me.)
