I’m confused by this chapter:
— It didn’t seem wise or safe to dive into rampant sex in the middle of a takedown of a Queen.
— I don’t understand why Sookie turned so bitchy & hostile with Eric all of the sudden, while worrying that Hadley, the bitch who sold her out to QSA, would be mad at her for taking a shirt.
— I don’t understand why Andre would be on the throne. He’s part of Sophie-Anne’s retinue so he would most likely have been involved in all the problems.
— Why is Sookie so easily & repeatedly diving into having sex with Eric while thinking poorly of him anytime they aren’t preoccupied with having sex?

So much confusion all the sudden with only one chapter left to resolve the storyline.

I would have thought this version of Sookie had enough sense by this point to understand functioning under the guise of being a trusted vampire’s ‘human’ was for her safety & to keep unknown vampires from taking a shot at claiming her. Arguing about the validity of being His or not should be left for a private conversation. I’ve been enjoying a Sookie who behaves less stupidly & is less irrationally bitchy than the majority of Sookies, so I’m a bit disappointed.

I’m definitely curious about who is behind the bomb. It seems a stretch that Mississippi who know about their sudden departure from NOLA & their itinerary in Chicago so soon. I guess if there’s a mole in QSA’s court it’s possible. However, I can’t think why they’d do something that would likely kill Sookie since capturing her is a common goal for her attackers.

While I quite like long, involved stories, I’ve found a lot of fanfic story writers often mistake rambling, babbling pieces (that they apparently haven’t a clue how to bring to resolution) for good, complex, & lengthy stories. I’m enjoying this succinct & frugal style of storytelling from Aftermath and this sequel You Deserve Much Better. The approach is refreshing and very effective only using limited but important details then allowing your readers to fill-in gaps & time jumps on their own & as they need it from their particular mindsets.
