I read this in one sitting and found it moved along very well. The relationship between the two brothers is so interesting several views are indeed possible. I prefer that Sesshomaru has decided Inuyasha is worthy of his blood, in spite of his own belief to the contrary for so long that he wasn't, and that he still sees him as the only one that can challenge him. I wonder if Sesshomaru secretly hopes his sibling will someday be able to defeat him in a fight. Since no one else can Inu is his only possibility of a true rival. This makes him far more valuable alive and well than dead. As for emotions and attachments Sesshomaru will always love Rin, she is his only real special person. But he still has a lingering affection for his father and as a result has a sort of feeling toward his brother. What that feeling is, that is any ones guess, but I prefer the approach you gave in this story.
He wants Inu to be okay. He just doesn't want to admit even to himself that he wants it. So he finds ways to explain the fact that he is kind of a big brother. Sort of, He protects and nurtures on his own terms. Loved the story. It was original and well done. A fav for sure.

I been crying since i read what happened to inuyasha. It's broke my heart to think that he... He... Been in PAIN for very LONG TIME! To-to... do something like that to him hurt me so much! My poor pup! And his hair! No! Author-chan you do a very good job to make make cry so hard for this. *still crying*

Just simply beautiful, I cried at the end, I cried for all Inuyasha's pain. I felt in love with Sesshoumaru, when he reached to "pet" Inuyasha for comfort...! Aaaahh! his unique way to carring for his baby brother is cute, although he is a big tsundere and never admits it, still it was so painful and sweet how he helped Inuyasha all the way to remember everything! I also loved how Rin helped too, Aahh she's so adorable! Anyways it was a great fanfic! Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece with us! (: take care!

This . . . was simply EXQUISITE! Not only did you take out the tired old romance factor that's usual in this theme, it is absolutely AMAZING how well you maintained the brothers in character! I have never seen such fantastic character development before! I loved how you showed such a contradiction in Inuyasha's personality, as well as the subtle way you also brought out the contradictions in Sesshomaru's character. I think my favorite part was when Inuyasha protected Sesshomaru from the water demon's attack, and Sesshomaru's consequent reaction. That persistent, spontaneous quality of Inuyasha's to protect those around him regardless of the consequences was incredibly well portrayed. All in all, I utterly forgot this was a fanfiction and quite easily decided that this was part of the original Inuyasha story. I literally had to remind myself otherwise when I finished reading this story.
I'm a big fan of stories where Inuyasha and Sesshomaru save each other in some way or the other or learn to get along better. And this story easily tops! Oh, and I loved your explanation at the end too!
And, by the way, the story being set in Inuyasha universe aside, you have REALLY GREAT talent as writer! I really hope you publish your own work soon.
