To say that I like this story is a huge understatement...because I absolutely LOVE it! This is one of the best ST stories that I've read. I love how you wrote it in Bones' POV, and how you engaged the reader by describing Kirk's growing relationship with his crew. I love how the story wasn't too angst-y, and yet it is still able to trigger strong emotions from the reader (well, at least, it did in me).

Poignant moment:

"You would never leave any of us behind, Jim. To leave you would be illogical." If he weren't so delirious from the pain and medication, Jim could have sworn that Spock gave him a small smile. "Rest now. My friend." Spock added, a gentle look in his eyes.

Simply wonderful. This is a treasure.
