Wonder whether it was Danny that Sam gave the information about? It's a good story, very unique and written well. I look forward to your next update.

I am less and less convinced that Danny should be going to Annie's right now. Even Sam thinks so. But what is he doing, and why? The quarrel between Gene and Alex is painful to read, but shows the stress that the threat to Danny places on them both. And Nosy Norman is a memorably creepy creation. More soon, please!

OMG! I just went to click for the next chapter and there isn't one! :O Please tell me you're going to continue and haven't stopped... It's all very intriguing and I'm desperate to know what's going on with Sam - you mentioned Keats! - and whether it's linked to Dempster and the threats against Gene and Danny. This is the second of your stories that I'm desperate to know the conclusion of (the other being the Grace Of God). You're an amazing writer and I really, really, REALLY hope the events of the series 3 finale haven't destroyed your muse... which, unfortunately, seems to be happening to quite a few of my other favourite Ashes writers. Please don't be another one! This is truly amazing, as are its predecessors.

Oh what does Sam want alex to do? I imagine it must be emotional for alex leaving danny with annie cos she is more like dannys mum now. Gene is still very strong in character in this chapter although annie ans alex have seen glimpses of weakness/emotion/ fear over danny which is only natural. Can't wait for more.

I'm very intrigued by Sam's situation, and what's going on with him. I wonder why he wants to get in touch with Alex though.

A tremendous sense of darkness and danger in this story - and given that Sam has unwittingly betrayed Danny, it will probably not be safe to send the boy to Annie, and might even put her and her children in danger too. And now we know Keats is behind this - oh, dear, please update soon!

loving this story...like alex's motherly instincts coming back into play. I understand genes thinking but i feel alex is right. So so does this mean that gene is sending danny and alex away or just danny? Can't wait for more.
