*laughs* I go back and start over from my last save every time Dogmeat dies as well. Once though, I hadn't saved in a couple of days, relying on the Auto Saves to carry me. I ran into a party of raiders, killed them all off, and then quickly traveled to Megaton because my health was very low. It was only when I got there that I realized Dogmeat wasn't with me. I traveled BACK to where I had 'lost' him, and discovered that he'd dead... And, becuase I had traveled, it had overwritten my Auto Save. So, i had to fall back 3 days' worth of playing to get my dog back...

*laughs*

And there's no reason that i'm telling you all of this. What i really want to say is thank you for the story! It was a great read.

You've just prompted me to write my own Fallout 3 story. This was amazingly written. Perfect.

This story was really good, I started tearing up halfway through.
