This was so heavy and sad, but beautifully written and uplifting in those moments of remembrance. The ending made me gasp...I guess you're not continuing anymore? Your Combeferre is excellent.

Ohmygoodnessohmygoodness! I am so excited for the next chapter, and I'm praying that this National Guardsman saw Enjolras and R die and he can tel Ferre! Eek! Anyway, I love your writing, by the way, it is beautiful. I never really thought about how Ferre wouldn't actually know how most of his friends died, and that in its self is just heartbreaking. The way you portray everyone is fabulous, Courf, Marius, Jehan, all of them. You make me happy, and please continue soon!

Things I Love, Part One: Your Courfeyrac!

My goodness, isn't he vibrant and so full of charm even when he's technically not alive in the story. You always give him such wonderful stories, such life, such enthusiasm! He's a delight to read. I just love all your characterizations: Marius looking rather more Hugolian than in his youth and his extreme PTSD, Combeferre's gentle quest for truth above all, even the sort of throwaway lines about Bahorel and Prouvaire! Oh they do shine in all their glory in your fics! And Grantaire! What a bittersweet but fitting end for him, for no one to know his one moment attaining the sublime. So glad you updated this, it was *wonderful*!

are you going to continue this? it's incredibly well done and I would love to read a bit more :D

This is really lovely...though I'll admit that the flashback with the kittens has been to me the highlight of all three chapters so far! "Too much sobriety leads to delusions," indeed :D The last few lines on Grantaire I also really liked...what a pity that (assuming the barricade events are all canon) Combeferre will probably be unable to record Grantaire and Enjolras' deaths in detail.

This is so incredibly well written. You manage to capture the spirit of the past, present, and all who fill them masterfully. Your characterizations of not only Marius and Combeferre who are still alive, but of all of the Amis (particularly Courfeyrac)who are dead are spot on. Overall this is an incredibly well written fic. I look forward to more.
