Me and a few others are running a fanfic reading bookclub on a discord server and your fic came up, so I'll just copy and past what I wrote.

I loved the beginning... artist Axel... so soft and delicate and.. obsessed. It verged on the definite creepy side for ages for me. I loved him body-worshipping and face-worshipping Roxas. It was beautiful that he never went full-Marluxia creepy, but when Rox saw the drawings... well, I would have been thoroughly creeped out and run for the hills. I suppose it's a good thing Rox found Ax attractive. I'm sure that staved some of the creepiness off.

For me I didn't enjoy the rushed 'they go out to lunch and now are fast friends' bit. I get it has to be in there to accelerate the story... and it's nice that they have that connection before the payoff at the end there but... that middle bit would have been so good to explore for sexual tension. It could have been so much fun seeing Axel learn more about Roxas and the uncertainty of what Roxas thought of Axel, playing on Axel's mind
But I fear the end of the story would have been vastly different if that middle bit had been explored.

And the end bit was so good. I enjoyed them talking - since that's the only interaction we really see of them together, since the middle 'getting to be friends' bit got washed out of the story. If they hadn't talked at all I would have been sad. But I also feel like the talk at the end feels... forced? Undeserved? Like we see a bit of a relationship existing without seeing the formation of it - without having a validation for it. If that makes sense. I do say that that's my own bias because I adore reading about how relationships form and cement in stories.

I just really would have loved seeing them becoming friends instead of being told that they are now friends. But then we couldn't have had a one shot because that would have been several chapters worth of ammunition there I'm sure, ahaha!

So, those are my thoughts on the story. I really enoyed reading it. Thanks for writing it!

It's never the same every time and, considering i write some smut to, that's hard. Well it's hard for me anyway haha. but you do it so well! Once again, Well done.
