I think I am rereading this after so many years. Two comments, I never have ever liked the Albus Severus name. It seemed like he was given that name just to have a possible sequel. Second, why wouldn't they think of Hermione for either position left?

I liked this a hundred times more than book seven. Like you, I was pretty disappointed in the end of the HP series. And I am grateful you ended with Harry chasing Snape away. Good riddance. The naming thing will forever bother me!

I have always thought that the level of imposed character stupidity as the series ran increased with each book, only I think it really started with Goblet of Fire. When I read it for the first time, I thought it so blindingly obvious that Moody was a ringer, I kept waiting for Dumbledore or at least Hermione to realise it. Harry isn't stupid; his senses were dulled by pain and exhaustion through year 5, but after that, I'd expect any teen to rebel against being controlled and pushed about, and come up with a plan.

Kevin: Whether you still receive your reviews or not , I'll take my chances and write. This particular fic hit me so deeply that I've read it more than once since of my thoughts of JK,s fics are as yours are also. Until I began reading FF, I couldn't believe how stiffly she had written her fics. As I often heard said on the old show: Dragnet: "Just the facts Maam" That was her books to a tee. The Movies were not much better to the point where I have the completed set of DVD,s but only read and watched to half way into book and disc 6, had only skimmed through both book and disc 5, and book and disk 7 is still unopened. Yes she came up with a fabulous idea but in my humble opinion a great many of the FF writers who expounded her ideas exceeded all expectations as to how she should have taken her ideas and built a stronger series. Thank Merlin for our FF writers, you especially.
