juli93 chapter 5 . 10/22/2011 Omg I love it it's really amazing and I never read something like this before nothing. It had anything you could think of drama, romance, family...everything. I really love it. |
YourNinja chapter 5 . 8/2/2011 Fantastic! When I read gabriella couldn't have a baby, it broke my heart. But then I read the last chapter and it was so cute, and I love how you wrote how in love Troy and gabi were. And I almost cried when I thought Troy was the one that got shot or that I thought gabi shot herself at the end. I was like 'No!' but then I kept reading and was like 'yay! At least gabi and Troy are alive and in love still!' so overall it was fantastic! [: |

chasingscarlett chapter 1 . 7/11/2010 Amazing story. One of the best I've ever read actually, and I love the Bonnie & Clyde essence of Troy & Gabriella. It's really endearing, and thank god it wasn't a foreshadowing. Can't wait to see what stories you have planned for the future. |
dontcatchme chapter 4 . 5/3/2010 AMAZING, well played out story, by the way. It's unlike anything I've ever read before. Sorry for the late review, haha. I actually read this story like... 4 months ago? But I'm just now reviewin'. Ops. ;) I'm gonna guess about the reason the title, though I'm probably totally off. Is it because the father had a stroke, and that's how they were doomed to this life of peril? Well, that's my best guess. Anyway, SUPERB job, darling! Really great, great stuff. |
scabbyabby chapter 5 . 11/4/2009 Diana, Diana, Diana... I loved this story. I'm kinda glad I waited until it was complete and so grateful that Van pushed me into reading it sooner rather than later because I gobbled it up. Reading it all in one sitting made it so powerful and emotional. I love how this story makes the reader think. Just because somebody does bad actions does that necessarily make them a bad person? Can somebody do what TG do yet remain good citizens? It just fascinates me how much this 'mafia' life isn't Troy and Gabriella yet they manage to put on a show when on the job. They remain human and plagued with guilt throughout. Their desperation to leave this lifestyle behind and escape back to their quiet life in California tugged on my heart strings. Here they are terrorizing 'The City' so to speak, but you can't help but feel sympathetic towards them - their life was predestined by their fathers. Their love for each other just oozes off the screen throughout the story. Their passion for each other and the powerful intense nature of their love is truly moving. Does this prove that love saves us from everything? The saving grace? I feel like it was, well in this circumstance at least because I desperately wanted everything to work out in favour for TG. They were 'better' than the life they were leading and I wanted them to be free of it so badly. The question about Gabriella being armed was interesting. The way this question changed Troy was fascinating - he was saving her from the worst of their life; protecting her from getting her hands dirty because he loved her so much. I love how it really brings out his protective side and how he enforced that she was his first priority. The 3 inch scar incident hurt my heart so I can only imagine how much that cuts Troy up. It actually probably fuels his desire to protect her even more. The argument in Part Two over the gun was really emotional and when Troy passionately announced that the difference between them and their fathers regarding their position on raids blew me away. The way he snapped and revealed to her that she meant EVERYTHING to him made my heart stop and my breath catch in my throat. It was just so raw! 'You make it easier to breathe, Brie' - this line was beautiful. The detail about cream soda was cute. And the emails made me giggle. The little details like this made it normal, if this lifestyle you are writing could ever be considered normal. Sharpay killing herself shocked me when I initially read it, but if I sit and think about it then it wasn't really unexpected. She became enthusiastic about her role after seeing her mother committing suicide. It all just... made sense when you really sit and think about the character Sharpay played. My favourite part of the story was the miracle that saved them. The lack of a child is what led to them entering the world of their parents on a certain level. As a couple they were in a dark place and I'm not entirely sure whether Troy would have done what was asked of him if they had had a little baby. They way killing somebody affected Gabriella is pretty much how I think I would react. The guilt that wracked her proved that I was right all along, they are 'better' than the life they are living and Troys' protective side and strong stance against her being armed were justified. I loved the imagery of Ben being a blank canvas, a fresh start. My heart swelled with happiness when Troy said he was thinking that it was about time they moved. Gabriella bursting into tears was so appropriate because honestly, I felt like crying myself. The spiderman complex and the realisation that something are not worth the risk is such an important part of this and it is so so true! All in all, I freaking LOVED this story! Like, you have no idea how much this story moved me and made sit back to really think about things. Absolutely amazing! |
IH chapter 5 . 9/29/2009 Wow. This was a fantastic last chapter. And what I think is so great about it is that while it ties up pretty much all the loose ends, it's not a completely happy ending. It's not completely fair. First of all, Sharpay. I could feel her anger intensely. I could identify, even though I've never been in a situation like that. She was just so sick of the situation, as I think Troy and Gabriella were. She just had a different way of ending the frustration. It's so tragic, really, but I think the ending fit her. I do feel so bad for Ryan and Zeke, though. Losing someone they were so close to-they must have been devastated for weeks, months on end. I feel Troy's guilt. Those birds watching him every day-it's a reminder of what he's done, what he feels like he must continue on doing. I'm so so happy for the Bolton family though. You could feel Gabriella's bliss. And I praise Troy for making the tough decision for their son. Who knows what other paths they might have taken if Gabriella hadn't been able to conceive. This story was unlike any other I've ever read-and that includes books, too. Your writing is vivid and electrifying. Bravo. |
