This is a very well-done story. The dynamic between Mercutio and Romeo is lively and true to their characters, and your use of the Shakespearean language style is the best I've seen in a while. Great job!

Seamless dialogue woven with Romeo's and Mercutio's personalities. For a second I actually thought some of it was taken from the play itself. Mercutio is amazing and that last line is genius. Oh Romeo, a fool in love, life and death.

I read this a awhile go then didn't remember where so I thought I watched a clip of it that's how good it was
After awhile I couldn't find it so checked fanfic just in case and there it was mad mercutio

OH MY BARD. I LOVE YOU. My college did a very good production of R&J (I saw it twice) and they deliberately played up sexual tension between Mercutio and Romeo, with Mercutio's last act before dying to kiss Romeo on the forehead. This makes it PERFECT.

Okay, so almost a year later and I've finally read Romeo and Juliet! And so you get a review at last. A no doubt disappointingly brief one.

First of all, you did a much better job of it than me! Not that this is any great or difficult accomplishment, but it bears saying! I don't know what purists would say (and what are purists doing reading fanfic?) but I think you did a pretty good job with the language and characterisation. I didn't really think of Romeo as particularly dim, except when it comes to his fairytale ideas of love, and I think for the most part you managed to convince me of the same. More or less!

In short, very enjoyable and sorry it took me so long to get around to reading it!
