Niabu chapter 2 . 8/10 I like how you play with the theme and your writing is beautiful! |
xXxCorsetxXx chapter 7 . 6/9/2013 Some of the characters you chose for each sin took me by surprise but your alternative list choices even more so. I would love to see something written for your second alternative list of characters, especially since I wonder how lust would play out with the quiet little Shizuka. For what you do have written already, my favorites were Kaiba, Anzu, and Mai. You've put a lot of thought into this and it's written very well. Dark, secretive, full of sin - and I've enjoyed every bit. |
TheFlyingHamster chapter 7 . 11/5/2011 yeah right you egotistic pharaoh! love the story and I didn't really get ryou's role as gluttony at first cause i thought he would be envy but it made sense in the end. |
BlueSpiritFire1 chapter 3 . 2/13/2011 Now THIS, THIS is the side of Yugi that we never see. This is the side that i think is his true feelings. This, my friend, is a masterpiece. |
DemonKittyAngel chapter 7 . 1/23/2011 Kill Yami, bitch slap Mai, reality check Malik on how delusional he is, let Anzu stir in her own self caused misery, give Yugi a backbone to hit yami with (even verbally), get Ryou to a therapist, and bankrupt Kaiba. I think those are semi-acceptable solutions. |
darkest shade of red chapter 2 . 7/4/2010 good story, in this chapter you described ryous feelings so well |
Affy-Bakura chapter 7 . 6/29/2010 :D Thanks for give me more reason to not like Atem! Really. -.- He's a jerk. His was a wonder full story! Though I won't have though of those characters for those sins at first, but I totally see it now. |
Affy-Bakura chapter 5 . 6/29/2010 This captures Malik so well! |
Affy-Bakura chapter 2 . 6/29/2010 O.O Woah. Totally didn't expect that! I was expecting Joey to be Gluttony and Ryou to be Lust. But this make compete sense! |
ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb chapter 7 . 5/23/2010 Wow. Just wow. I literally loved every single chapter of this. The characters were so spot on. I could feel each of these characters and their flaws. This was so well written. Huge props. Fantastic work! Loved it all! |
Chicary chapter 7 . 5/9/2010 Win. Okay, so that was an inappropriately unsophisticated way of complimenting this work but that was exactly what went through my mind as I read some of these. I can tell you put a lot of thought and effort into each line and the way you chose to illustrate each piece was both surprising and very engaging. The ones that stuck with me the most were the 'envy' and 'lust' pieces. Envy because, like another reviewer already mentioned, Yugi is often portrayed as the the quintessential self-sacrificing angel. While canon (especially season 0) really enforces this belief by making Yugi impossibly good, I think it's productive to rub a little soot on him just to see a glimpse of that dark little human side. I really liked 'lust' because it was not what I expected at all and I really thank you for it. When I first saw 'Anzu' and the connection to Atem, I thought this would fall in line with all the other fics that highlighted his physical appearance, but this was so different! Ryou's piece just plain broke my heart. Judging by the opening of that part, I didn't expect to see the 'gluttony' in him come out but, ugh, I can never watch that part of the series the same way again (especially since I recall him smiling when he looked up at his friends from all his food). I think if this wasn't a deliberate portrayal of ONE aspect of each characters' flaw, I'd say you treated Seto, Mai and Atem a bit too harshly. I read through those pieces thinking 'but, but this and that' because I couldn't help but string other aspects of their lives into it. I did, however, appreciate this rendition of Atem's thoughts about Yugi before the ceremonial duel. I think it's because I've read to many angsty pre-ceremonial duel (puzzleshipping) stories to count. |
ForestGuardian311 chapter 7 . 5/4/2010 An interesting take on the characters...I really liked it. I was very surprised at Yugi's being "Envy," but I suppose it would make sense. You just don't really see a negative side of him at all, w/ him being so optomistic and everything, so that was a real insight into what he could be really thinking. And Atem, well, I would said you hit the nail on the head with "Pride." It'd be interesting to see if you could somehow continue this and express his surprise (and maybe horror?) at being beat by his aibou ) Anyway, lovely job! |
safa'at keruth chapter 7 . 4/9/2010 Atem's arrogance certainly shows a lot in the last ficlet. By the way, an alternate-sin sequel would be awesome... you know, after you finish 'Ryou's Story' and any other hanging fics. |
safa'at keruth chapter 5 . 4/9/2010 Surprisingly enough, I liked Malik's ranting on wrath a lot. It's nice to hear a more thorough explanation of his desire for revenge on the Pharaoh and the curses that the Ishtars have to bear. By the way, which Ancient Egyptian ruler said that quote at the end? |
blueteacups chapter 7 . 4/7/2010 What a wonderful collection of pieces! It struck me as going beyond the 7 sins to portraying the characters in a strikingly sharp and believable way. Great! :D |
