korasami chapter 1 . 6/25/2014 ...was the "supplier" the Doctor was talking about the Cabbage Merchant, by any chance? Also, this was brilliant. I would have never thought of Turlough/Zuko, but now that I have, I can't stop. Brooding teenagers (or "teenagers") must stick together, eh? |
aisarete chapter 1 . 7/9/2010 oooooh that's yummy. not your everyday pairing, but not crack either. they fit so well, and you did a great job. definitely going to pass this on to my friends. |
Keptin chapter 1 . 7/8/2010 Wow. I NEVER realized there were no gingers in the Avatar World.. Anyway, this was entertaining and well written, as always. I don't watch Dr Who so I have no clue if Turlough was in character or not, but I liked how you wrote Zuko. Good job. |
Bluetiger chapter 1 . 3/31/2010 While Doctor Who is one of my all time favourite shows, I have to confess that I rarely ever read fanfiction for it. It's also pretty rare for me to read an ALTA fanfic that doesn't feature Sokka in some important capacity, but despite all that, I read, and very much enjoyed this compelling little crossover. I will admit that I only vaguely remember Turlough from his time in the TARDIS, but I can recall that, unlike the other companions, his motives for being there always seemed rather ambiguous and conflicted. I thought that the Doctor's somewhat eccentric reason for stopping off in Ba Sing Se actually tied in with both series extremely well, while there was some quality about his words of advice to Turlough, before then leaving him to his own devices, that really fit the personality of the Doctor's fith incarnation. :) The instant mutual interest between Zuko and Turlough was very nicely realised, with the former intrigued by his customers unusual physical appearance, and the latter's fascination with his waiter's features and manner. It's odd that so many of the other customers in the tea shop assumed that Turlough's read hair marked him as coming from the Fire Nation, given that the only red headed people we saw in the Avatar world all come from the Earth kingdom, but then I guess that the Earth Kingdom covers a wide area and many different peoples, so it's not impossible that Turlough would have been the only ginger example in the whole of Ba Sing Se (especially if any new red headed arrivals rapidly fall victim to the same violent predjudices that we see here). Oh, and since when does Iroh have jet black hair, lol. ;) The brief battle, and Turlough's introduction to elemental bending, was very well choreographed. It also made for a very effective way of charging the following intensely passionate encounter between the two exiles. :P I cannot believe that this was your first ever fic, it's really just too good. Either way, I loved reading it, so thanks for sharing. ) |
Morrighan chapter 1 . 3/29/2010 Turlough/Zuko! That's almost too much hotness for one fic. And them having post-fight alley sex is awesome! Also, the Doctor seeking out Cabbage Guy? Why ELSE would be go to the Avatar world? (At least, since we're talking Five here, he was probably sympathetic towards him.) |
