This was just terrific. I kept remembering the ep when it came out that Dean played golf and the other hunters mocked him. You were ahead of your time. Thank you for sharing it.

I loved this one. The boys are at least thinking kind of nice thought. Dean was totally on his game and on his game! I appreciated so much that Dean got to have dome fun and once again showed how unobtrusively brilliant he his is...and Sam noticed! Brilliant!

Dean still had that swagger in his step, but it was almost like he was a method actor trying to remember his role.

This is wonderful. You absolutely nailed their characters, and really got both sides of the story on the secret keeping mess of the boy's relationship in Season 4. It kind of made me sad, because I wanted one of them to be right, but they both kind of were, and they hurt each other so much in the process of trying to be right. Anyway, great job.

I like the s4-dynamic you showed, and that you gave credit to both sides. Yes, Sam is wrong, but he doesn't want to lose his brother. It's hard, and will rip them apart, but for him, it's still the right thing. Poor Sam, and of course poor Dean.

And thinking of season six-opener, I like that we now know why Dean had a golf-club in his kitchen *g*

I loved the whole scene where the boys went to the small lake to search for the body and stepping into all those golf balls and then I loved the scene where Dean was taking lessons from those two old men... and he was a natural.. who knew! but I think that if Dean would try out golf, maybe he would be a natural at it...:)

You wrote the way each of the boys believed their view was the right one very well, making it possible to see both of their sides. And making the reader want so badly to make them talk to each other!

Hey, that was really AWESOME! I loved the story right from the first word to the last one. You did a brillant job with mingling a real hunt with all the unspoken problems between the brothers, giving us suspense, insight to their feelings and humor (and I appreciate it very much when there are situations and dialogues that lighten up the mood - we haven't had too much of that in S4 and S5, that's true, but still: it's part of how they deal with all the crap that happens).

All your characters are very vivid and a pleasure to read, especially the two old guys who teach Dean how to play golf. The links between the cheating players there and Sam deceiving his brother (though in "good" intention) were a nice piece of work.

Great wrap up and game. Love how all Sam can see is how what he says will help Dean, and does total denial that what Deans says could help him. The girlfriend exchange, the You are one of the good guys - just spot on perfect.

Excellent conversation with the ghost - and another reminder for Sam of how far off the reservation he is. But his line - what good is that if everyone is dead was heartbreaking.

As to Dean feeling guilty for Sam's behavior in S4 - you've used that a couple of times and I admit I do scratch my head on that one. However much I read it and enjoy the angst in fanfic, and I do like it never fear!, I was never sure canon wise in S4 how guilty Dean felt for Sam's demonizing. And now I think S5 has given us reason to believe it wasn't very much.

After all, both brothers make mistakes, even really big ones, all on their own sometimes.

Anyway, enough chatter from me. Onto the next chapter.

Loved the use Dean as bait story. And Dean constantly being reminded that he's now a burden to Sam, and not recognized even when he's shoulder to shoulder. Great cliffhanger, almost skipped the review and went right to ch 5!
