A bit over the top, and the last scenes could use a rewrite, Kasumi wandering in with a sixpack was just too weird.
The final confrontation just seemed off, both pretentious and nonsensical. She didn't feel like a real person with how she spoke.
This simply doesn't work on its own without more chapters to flesh it out.

Huh. It's a decent Act 1 build-up, I admit, but I'm glad you reworked this into the Doppel-Kat story. Although this isn't bad, this reads more like a CYOA-type story, which isn't as refreshing to encounter, with how many floating around. (I will concede that I haven't come across any that drop-kicks the protagonist into the FCCW/Jihad era, however.)

Very, nice, would like to see this expanded also.
