Reviews for The Dragon's Rose
LittleMissRunOn chapter 35 . 7/14
Oh I loved this! I'm so happy to see Rebecca's journey and her change into a mature young woman from the spoiled brat she was, even in such a short time. To have the courage to accept her mistakes is a big step and I am proud of her.

Love the symbolism of Seto breaking the lock and bringing Yami into the secret garden ;)

And Atem and Seto at odds had me laughing so hard, and of course our favorite Muffin letting Seto know nothing gets past him! I loved loved loved this whole story, well done girl!
LittleMissRunOn chapter 34 . 7/12
I started this chapter and had every intention of just reading a little and going to bed, but here I am, 4:30 am, unable to stop because I KNEW I had finish this after such a PERFECT opening scene. Hands down one of my favorite scenes of this story - a baby Yugi Motou grilling Dragon King Seto Kaiba about dating his older brother. Something I never knew I needed in my life, but now I can’t live without.

I did thoroughly enjoy this chapter, very sweet and tying up all loose ends perfectly. I cannot, cannot wait to finish this story tomorrow and see the introduction of Yami to Seto’s family. I was wondering when you were going to tie in the poem to Seto; I had suspicions that it would’ve been earlier but I Really like where you placed it.

My guess is our wedding is Syrus and Jaden since we have no proposal yet from said dragon king... yet ;)
LittleMissRunOn chapter 32 . 7/11
So, uh, talk about waiting until the very last second, huh? ;)

I did really love this. What a beautiful climax. This is an entirely different Seto than I am personally used to, and I adore it. All the Seto Kaiba's I've read about sacrificed his image/company to prove his trust/love/sincerity for his lover. This is the first one I've met that sacrificed himself/his life to protect the one(s) he loves and honestly. I didn't know what I was missing. Well done.
LittleMissRunOn chapter 31 . 7/11
I'm very impressed with the entire chapter, between the struggle, following the action, the reactions, all of it is amazing and well done. (and in regards to your AN- Seto and Yami's quick spat is one of my favorite points in this chapter and I think it's very much in character that Yami would be outwardly pissed that he would risk himself so much for him)
LittleMissRunOn chapter 30 . 7/11
Oh my gosh The Battle was so perfect! I laughed SO hard at Bakura and Ryou's part and Chazz - oh this was so perfect. This is one of my favorite chapters (:
LittleMissRunOn chapter 28 . 7/11
I honestly think the line about how Atem "wanted to claw at the dirt and rip up the forest by its roots" is one of my favorite lines of imagery you've written. It's right up there with the wings of Wadjet line from the fight scene in ATKP. Such a powerful line to convey the absolute anger he is feeling, I have little words to describe it.

And as always, a seamless transition to the three boys and it's all smooth and believable despite all that's happened since the last time they saw each other. You can really see the three personalities here :)

LittleMissRunOn chapter 18 . 7/10
The beginning of this chapter has to be one of my favorite scenes so far, hands down. I had real tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. I love this Bakura SO MUCH. Even the play between the two boys was so cute and light; it's so adorable to see Seto resorting to childish whims. But now we are getting ser-reeee-ousssssss ;) This is another one of your slow burns, i can feel it in my bones
LittleMissRunOn chapter 17 . 7/10
I love the reflection (haha get it? mirror?) of Seto now caring for Yami's pain and telling him to just shut up and let him do it. It speaks volumes for Seto who, honestly never wanted to see anyone get hurt, but for him to actively care and take the time to bandage him up. Besides the fact it's an extremely intimate thing to do, it shows such a strong growth from his gruffness and disinterest in Yami's wellbeing (the fact Ryou had to put his foot down to be able to bring Yami meals when he was locked in his room with no visitors). And the symbolic meaning of Yami attacking the mirror in an attempt to alleviate the anger he feels towards himself.
LittleMissRunOn chapter 6 . 7/9
(This is actually in regards to the previous chapter but I'm apparently not allowed to review the same chapter twice.)

I had to go back and find where you had the dandelion symbolism - I had actually thought you'd used it in one of Yami's dreams but I like where you put it even more right now. At the end of Book 3 of the HG series (which i just finished rereading tonight bc of the new book), there's dandelion symbolism as well and it has really gotten into my head in the past hour or so and I can't leave it be. There's a line there comparing Peeta to a dandelion and how with him "life can go on despite how bad our losses and that it can be good again". Dandelions are symbols of hope, rebirth, continuing life... And yes, it's easy to see the impact of that symbolism with Yami and his wishing and hoping for a life of acceptance and happiness, but the other piece to that wish holds a far less innocent meaning. That Yami wishes to be the dandelion that helps Seto move on and continue in his life despite what he has suffered and what he has lost and force him to regrow himself as he becomes human again, and that Seto's life CAN be good again and that life can have meaning. And that enjoying life and simply surviving are two vastly different things. I'm not sure I would go as far as to say Seto was even enduring before Yami because he locked himself away to not feel pain and to not have to deal with emotions. I think about that line from Call Me By Your Name a lot: "But to make yourself feel nothing so as not to feel anything - what a waste!" And how every time we are hurt and we numb ourselves to the pain and force ourselves to try to feel nothing we bankrupt ourselves until we have no feelings left, and this is exactly what Seto has done. He has taken that pain, and forced himself to feel nothing and simply survived instead of enduring it, and it's not until Yami comes along that he begins to be able to feel anything again, and when he does, he can't understand it because he doesn't remember what love felt like.
LittleMissRunOn chapter 9 . 7/8
This is SO CUTE. The fluff ball wet Kuriboh!Jaden is my absolute favorite scene so far. I love the banter and the insanity and Yami just sitting there with wide eyes and a gaped mouth trying to take it all in. I love this!
LittleMissRunOn chapter 5 . 7/7
Oh Rebecca... First, it is so funny seeing your old thoughts on Rebecca and hating her and seeing her as a villain in one of your stories. I could never hate Rebecca after you made Rhebekka. Second, Rebecca is SO correct here in telling Yami what he deserves and what he is going to eventually have... except about the part where it's a woman who will be ravishing him ;)
TheMimeThatTalks chapter 1 . 9/16/2018
Dude, the "Kaiba" in Seto Kaiba means seahorse. "Kiba" means fang.
Elphaba818 chapter 35 . 6/13/2018
What a unique ending to such a great story! I loved every second of it! :D
Valkyria Raven chapter 35 . 6/6/2018
All right lets see: Rebecca not so bad but I'm still not her fan. As for Atem, well he will get over it...eventually. Also I liked that the only wedding we saw was that of Syrus and Jaden. I mean a wedding between Seto and Yami would have been predictable.
I really enjoyed this story and hope that we'll see another Prideshipping story sometime in the future.
