I just finished playing through FFXII for the second time and wanted to read some good FFXII fanfiction. I thought this was hilarious, you really did a good job with the both Balthier and Basch. I have a fondness for Basch and like it when the author brings out his thoughts in the way you did. :-)

I just love the dialogue in this-so well written and in character to boot!

Basch's thoughts wandering into tangents is wonderful and so realistic. Also, Balthier picking at his itchy bite amuses me way too much for some reason. XD

This line made me think of Tennyson, or Shakespeare... and I'm not sure whether I love you or hate you for it. It's so perfect it makes me jealous. Your description of the beaches, your attention to the labyrinthine twists of Basch's train of thought, your clinical (and yet compassionately humorous) description of Balthier's arm breaking out in godknowswhat... Ahh, I think I'll turn right around and read it again.
